WHAT TO DO:

Haiti is still a rare and authentic destination, just now opening itself to tourism. In search of paradisiacal beaches with white or volcanic sand? Kokoye beach, with emerald waters is one of the most beautiful beaches in Haiti. Breathtaking although is not too easily accessible. The effort is worth the trip. Enjoy traditional Creole seafood dishes prepared by the community organization that controls the entire beach, and camp together under the stars. Discover Haitian voodoo, a religion imported in the 16th century by African slaves. During voodoo ceremonies, you will recite prayers, dance and sing. Jacmel, the center of voodoo in the south of the island, includes several temples open to tourists.

With its calm and transparent waters, Côte des Arcadins is famous for nautical sports and snorkeling. This place is a must for tourists seeking tranquility, sun and white sand beaches. The Marie-Jeanne's cave is the longest natural excavation of the Caribbean. Of the three truly explored levels so far, the cave contains 56 identified rooms (cellars). It is a real labyrinth of four kilometers layered on five levels of tiered galleries. Walls, ceilings and floors of this excavation are covered with speleothems (stalactites and stalagmites) of all types and sizes, which are unique to tropical caves. At Île-à-Vache, fishermen bring the freshest seafood from the ocean, caught directly in the local bay. Although the Île-à-Vache is quiet, the community is vibrant and it certainly will charm visitors with its friendliness, enthusiasm and openness. The people there are very outgoing and help make your trip an unforgettable experience. Haiti will charm you.
