Depart in the morning through the picturesque landscapes of Anatolia, towards the Capital, Ankara. Lunch on the way in a local restaurant and arrival in the afternoon in Ankara. Installation, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Visit of the city of Ankara and the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, and stroll through the citadel district. Lunch at a local restaurant and drive to Cappadocia. Arrival in Cappadocia, more precisely in Uchisar, you will discover some shapes and colors of the lunar landscape of the region. Dinner and overnight in a charming hotel built in local stone.
Departure for the visit of the churches of Göreme which gave Cappadocia its fame. Visit of the troglodyte village of Cavusin. Stop in Pasabag or the Valley of the Monks where the highest fairy chimneys of the region and their specialty are found; the three-headed fairy chimneys. Lunch in a typical local restaurant. Transfer to Avanos for a visit to a pottery and ceramics workshop. Stop in the Devrent Valley where you will discover multiple sculptures carved out of volcanic tuff by erosion. Return to Urgup and country barbecue dinner in the garden of Hotel Selcukluevi. Optional: Very early in the morning, possibility of a hot air balloon flight for about 1 hour over the landscapes of the region. Price confirmed on request.
Departure for the visit of an underground city (Kaymakli or Derinkuyu) which the region abounds, and built on several floors, city which could shelter thousands of people. Continuation to the village of Soganli famous for its Cappadocia dolls. Lunch in a local restaurant. Afterwards, visit surrounded churches landscapes of caves and unique geological configurations. Discover local crafts such as rugs and kilims. Return at the end of the afternoon to your hotel in Urgup. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Departure through a spectacular landscape towards the city of Konya, a holy city which was already inhabited in the 7th century BC. On the way, stop at the Agzikaran caravanserai (Sultanhani is being restored) Visit the Mausoleum of Mevlana, founder of the Order of the Whirling Dervishes. Visit of the Turbe where Mevlana and several members of her family rest. In the other buildings we will find among others the smallest and the largest Koran in the world. After lunch in a local restaurant, continuation of the visit. Installation, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Depart for Pamukkale, a World Heritage Site, with its extraordinary geological formations and 17 hot springs called "Cotton Castle" flowing from the mountain. Having lunch. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Departure for the visit of the "Cotton Castle" of Pamukkale and its hot springs, walk through its strange white limestone formations. Visit of the ancient city of Hierapolis, neighbor of the site of Pamukkale, and of its necropolis dating from the 2nd century BC where you can visit the Baths, the Temple
Visit of the prestigious ancient city of Ephesus, which was Greek and Roman, holy city of Artemis, whose temple was one of the seven wonders of the world, visit of the theater, the famous Library of Celsius and return to Kusadasi for lunch at a local restaurant. Rest of the afternoon free to walk through the bazaars and the lively streets and markets of this pretty port. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Departure along the coast of the Aegean Sea, towards Pergamon, which is, along with Alexandria, one of the great cities of Hellenistic civilization and whose population dates back as far as the 8th century BC. Visit to the Acropolis of Pergamon, which was the center of a cultural and political kingdom. You will find there in particular the Temple of Trajan, the theater, the temple of Athena, the altar of Zeus. After lunch in a local restaurant, continue to the city of Bursa. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Visit of Bursa which is nicknamed the green city for its many parks and green spaces, in particular due to its location at the foot of the mountains. Visits to the Green Mosque and the Green Mausoleum which are the symbol of the city. On the interior walls you will discover the green Izmir earthenware. Lunch in a local restaurant. Departure to Istanbul. You will take the large “Car-Ferry” which will take you across the Sea of Marmara allowing you to cross from the Asian side to the European side of Turkey. Arrival at the end of the afternoon in Istanbul. Dinner on your own and overnight at the hotel located in the heart of the historic Sultanahmet district.
Departure for the full day during which you will visit the fascinating city of Istanbul. Visit of Topkapi Palace, former home of the Sultans which contains one of the finest porcelain collections in the world. You can also discover the harem. We will continue to the Blue Mosque with six minarets that only sacred mosques have, and which will captivate you with its blue and green Iznik tiles covering. Visit of the Basilica Cistern which supplied water to the Imperial Palace and of the Hippodrome Square with its two Byzantine obelisks. Then visit Istanbul's famous “Grand Bazaar”, one of the largest bazaars in the world. Free time at the Grand Bazaar to do your shopping then return to the hotel in the late afternoon. Optional: Dinner-show with folk dance at the top of the panoramic restaurant of the Galata Tower, overlooking the Bosphorus and offering a spectacular view of the Golden Horn. Departure for the visit of Hagia Sophia, symbol of Byzantium dating from Emperor Justinian I, who will reveal its mysterious "celestial vault" and its marble columns. Formerly Christian basilica from the 6th century, then became a mosque from the 15th century. Free afternoon. Overnight at your hotel.
Completely free day for visits, shopping or the possibility of optional activities. Dinner on your own, and overnight at the hotel. Optional: Boat cruise along the Bosphorus with passage through the suspension bridges between Europe and Asia. Price confirmed on request.
