Flight from Montreal to Hanoi via Tokyo in economy class.
Stopover at Tokyo airport, then fly to Hanoi. Arrival, welcome at Hanoi International Airport, then transfer to your accommodation for installation.
Day free to relax or explore the city at your own pace. Dinner and overnight in Hanoi.
Visit of the capital, including: the mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh (outside) and its office house, built on stilts and visit of the pagoda at the Unique Pillar, the Temple of Literature, "first university of Vietnam", former Confucius temple turned mandarinal school and ethnographic museum, Hoan Kiem Lake and a ride by cyclo grows in the district of 36 corporations, in the heart of old Hanoi.Dinner and overnight in Hanoi.
You will leave in the direction of Ninh Binh, one of the ancient capitals of Vietnam. On the road, you will stop in the beautiful area of Van Long to board a boat. You will travel through the landscapes of hills, rice fields and terrestrial Ha Long Bay. Afterwards, you will have lunch at a local restaurant before continuing with a visit to Bich Dong Pagoda. Then, you will settle into your accommodation. Dinner and night at the hotel.
Discover the famous Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a veritable maritime labyrinth made up of nearly 3,000 islands and islets shaped like loaves of sugar. Then, you will board a junk for a two-day cruise. After lunch on board, you will visit exceptional islands and caves in the heart of the bay. The day will begin with a tai chi session on the boat's terrace, followed by a brunch buffet. Afterwards, you will disembark at Ha Long Wharf. Then, you will drive to Hanoi to reach the airport for your flight to Hue. On arrival, you will be transferred to your accommodation. You can enjoy a free morning to relax or start exploring Hue at your own pace. In the afternoon, you will visit the city of Hue, the soul of Vietnamese culture. You will discover the Imperial City, the Palace of Supreme Harmony and the Forbidden Purple City. Continue with the visit of the beautiful Thien Mu Pagoda, built in 1601 and symbol of the city of Hue and then embark on a traditional boat for navigation on the Perfume River. Dinner and Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning, you will depart for Hoi An along a picturesque road between the sea and the mountains. This road overlooks magnificent beaches and crosses the famous Col des Nuages. Along the way, you will stop in Da Nang to visit Linh Ung Pagoda. After lunch at a local restaurant, you will have free time to stroll along the beach. You will resume driving and make another stop in a fishing village before returning to your accommodation in Hoi An. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Visit of Hoi An, a charming town classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour will include the discovery of classical Vietnamese architecture, still very present in Hoi An, with its covered bridge and ancient houses made of precious wood. Afterwards, you will stroll along the alleys and silk stalls. You will lunch in a local restaurant before joining the workshop of a local craftsman specializing in a traditional skill in Hoi An: lantern making. Afterwards, you will return to your accommodation to enjoy the end of the day. Night at the hotel.
After breakfast. Free day for the individual discovery of the old town, enjoy the swimming pool or the An Bang beach. Night at the hotel.
In the morning, you will be transferred to Da Nang Airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh. Upon arrival, you will be taken to your accommodation to settle in. Afterwards, you will have a lunch at a local restaurant before starting to explore the city. This tour will include exploring the Central Post Office, the Municipal Theater, Ben Thanh Market, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Unification Palace. In the evening, you will enjoy a dinner during your cruise on the Saigon River. Night at the hotel.
Departure by coach from Saigon to Cai Be in the Mekong Delta (approx.100km). At the dock of Cai Be, boarding on board,a private boat to reach the small island of Tan Phong on the Mekong and its small floating market where you could, if you wish, buy fruit and drinks from merchant boats, then stop at the local garden to enjoy hot tea listening to traditional music. The day will continue with a bike ride*** and walk to meet the surrounding villages, daily life, orchards, churches, pagodas or traditional houses. You will enjoy a boat ride on the canal before continuing with the visit of an old house of Ba Duc. For lunch, you will enjoy a dinner at home in the heart of an orchard. Then, you will embark again on a boat to reach your accommodation in a beautiful traditional house by the river. After your installation, the hostess will meet you for an introduction to Vietnamese gastronomy before tasting your preparations with the rest of the group. Night with the inhabitant. ***Possibility to change the bike for motorcycle taxi, about 15 usd, (or equivalent in Vietnamese dongs), to be done on site***.
After breakfast in the company of your host, you will get on your bike to discover the surrounding landscapes and local daily life. Afterwards, you will visit a pottery and brick factory in the region. Then, you will take the road back to Ho Chi Minh with, en route, a stop at a local restaurant for your lunch. Upon arrival, you can settle into your accommodation and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
The morning will be devoted to the discovery of the Cu Chi tunnels, a complex network of underground passages, 250 km long, dug by the inhabitants during the war against the Americans. Farewell lunch with the whole group at a local restaurant before returning to your accommodation. You will have some last free time to shop and relax before your return flights. Night at the host
Transfer to Ho Chi Minh Airport for your return flights to Montreal.
