What to do in Panama

The Panama Canal

The Panama Canal was one of the most challenging engineering projects ever undertaken. This 77 km waterway, which connects the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean, is the country’s iconic tourist attraction. If you like cultural excursions, this is definitely a not-to-be-missed activity.

Panama City

Panama City, the capital of the country, is not like other cities in Latin America: it is highly developed. It is home to both modern buildings and older buildings rich in history. This city is a real jewel if you love architecture. You can find everything: museums, parks, great restaurants, nightclubs, etc. In fact, you won't know where to begin!

Colon Free Trade Zone

Shop ‘til you drop! This duty-free shopping area is heaven on earth. This is the second largest duty-free zone in the world with its 2.4 km2 and more than 1,750 businesses. Electronics, jewelry, clothing, toys, alcohol, cigarettes… There is so much to choose from!

Metropolitan Natural Park

If you love nature, you should definitely go for a walk in the trails of the Metropolitan Natural Park. This jungle located very close to Panama City offers the most diverse flora and fauna. If you are lucky, you might see monkeys, reptiles and tropical birds of all kinds. In addition, you will have a magnificent view of the capital in the distance.

Mangrove Tour

Are you in search of a thrilling activity? Go for a boat trip through the mangroves of the Panamanian jungle and go in search of crocodiles! Bring your camera, be quiet and keep an eye out for small reptile eyes coming out of the water to discreetly observe you.
