5 cities to party in... for globetrotters!

Lying on the beach is fine. But if you're like some people I know (not to mention myself), it's only good for a day, two at most! You want to get moving! Dancing, going out, meeting people, in short, anything but doing nothing!

Here's a list of dream places to party all over the world, based on my own experiences...

Budapest

A little gem of Eastern Europe: Budapest surprises in many ways. In the evening, the city comes alive while retaining its welcoming and warm atmosphere. The neon signs color the streets, and music can be heard even on the banks of the Danube, where amateur musicians sing even louder than the thumping music from the bars.

The atmosphere is festive, and the Hungarians are delighted to welcome friendly foreigners like you to enhance their evening! And as if that weren't enough, the city's elegant buildings are adorned with their finest lighting to offer you a magnificent view.

Barcelona

Barcelona is of course known for its fresh Mediterranean air, its tapas, but above all for its Ramblas ! The Ramblas are streets where you'll find tons of restaurants, bars, pubs, everything you need for an exceptional evening.

Spanish nightlife is known for being quite lively! But whether you're looking for a quiet evening or a wild night out, there's something for everyone. I had the chance to stroll along Las Ramblas del Poblenou and stay at the Melia Barcelona Sky Hotel, which is right next door. Staying nearby is definitely a must if you plan to spend a lot of time on the Ramblas.

Paris

Ah, Paris! The City of Lights, so romantic, so glamorous, chic, distinguished, and… vibrant! I invite you to read my article "A Night in Paris" to understand what I mean. There are bars for every taste. In fact, in the evening, everything becomes conducive to entertainment. The banks of the Seine, the square in front of Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Place du Louvre, the bridges… Everywhere you look, you'll find people ready to meet new people and chat all night long.

New Orleans

Special mention goes to the Mardi Gras festivities! I was lucky enough to attend the celebrations in a small village, Elton, but I also took part in the huge, multi-day party in New Orleans. For partying in the middle of January or February, it's THE place.

Bourbon Street is packed with festival-goers for a good five days. During the day, we take the opportunity to visit the surrounding area: the French Quarter , the promenade along the Mississippi River, a stroll through the neighborhoods affected by Hurricane Katrina… and in the evening, off we go! We watch the parade, drink Hurricanes (ironic, isn't it?) and dance all night long!

Las Vegas

Do I really need to say more? There's something for everyone, absolutely everyone. From shows to hotel tours, from super high-tech casinos to old-school 25-cent casinos, from piano duels to street performers… Plus a range of bars to suit every budget.

A destination to discover with friends, as a couple, and even as a family (why not take a wonderful father-son trip?) without hesitation. If you're worried about not finding something to do for 5 days, just wait and see! For example, the High Roller, this jet-set Ferris wheel where you can have an open bar inside the gondola itself, and its impressive view of the Strip .

And more

Of course, my travel experiences are missing tons: Ibiza , Madrid , Amsterdam , and many more. I'd love to hear your comments! What's your best experience? What's your best friend's?

For me, my next party destination could very well be Dublin in Ireland , or London … or even Hong Kong , or Rio de Janeiro , or…
