Are you travelling on a WestJet departure or return flight between July 30 and August 6, 2026? Please review the important information regarding your reservation here (French only).
Planning a trip can be stressful for many travelers. There are so many things to think about, so many things you can't forget! So, I've put together a short guide to help you prepare for your trip. Add it to your list of important things to do before you leave.
First, I encourage you to visit the website www.voyages.gc.ca . There you can find the entry and exit requirements for the country (or countries) you plan to visit (passport validity, visas, etc.). You can also learn about the customs and laws of your destination, as well as travel tips. As you know, customs and laws vary from place to place. It's best to be informed to avoid any problems!
Visit your nearest travel clinic to ensure your vaccinations are up to date. They can also advise you on other health precautions for your trip. Don't forget to stop by the pharmacy; the pharmacist can offer helpful tips and answer any questions you may have!
Remember to bring enough cash, but also a credit card for emergencies. Don't forget to notify your company to avoid having your card blocked if it's used outside the country (it happened to me, it's terrifying).
Don't forget to arrange your insurance! Bring proof of your insurance with you, as well as emergency phone numbers and your policy number.
If you plan to use your cell phone, check with your provider about the associated charges. Consider getting a phone plan so you don't have to sell your house to pay the bill when you return!
I also suggest you give your loved ones the contact details of the hotel where you will be staying. This way, they can reach you more easily in case of an emergency.
With that, happy preparations!
