Important Notice – Employment Negotiations at WestJet

Please note that Westjet flight attendants have voted in favour of a strike mandate which could be triggered on 2 August 2026.

WestJet is currently continuing negotiations with the union representing its cabin crew. The airline remains optimistic about reaching an agreement that recognizes the significant contribution of its cabin crew.

To offer customers more flexible and secure travel planning, Sunwing Vacations and WestJet Vacations Quebec are offering booking change options tailored to new or existing bookings for WestJet flights departing or returning on July 30, 2026 and August 4, 2026.

Customers affected by this situation beyond our control can choose from one of the following options:

Option 1: Change the departure date

Guests can make a one-time change to their departure date at the current daily rate. The change fee will be waived. However, if the change is to a more expensive vacation package, the higher price will apply. If the new package price is lower, no refund will be issued. Please contact us at 1-844-727-2437 to make changes to your reservation.

Option 2: Cancel the reservation

Customers can cancel their reservation and receive a full refund in the form of a travel credit valid for one year from the cancellation date. The new reservation must be made before the travel credit expires, but the new trip can be taken later. Manulife travel insurance and administration fees are non-refundable; Worry-Free Guarantee and Worry-Free Plus Guarantee will be refunded. To cancel your reservation, please contact us at 1-844-727-2437.

Option 3: Travel as planned

If you prefer to keep your current reservation, please email us at [email protected] to confirm your choice, including your booking reference. If your booked flights are affected by the work stoppage, WestJet will do its best to offer alternative options, including flights operated by partner airlines or other carriers, if available. However, due to the peak summer travel season, alternative flight options may be limited. If WestJet is unable to provide a flight option, you will be eligible for a refund of the value of your vacation package.

Customers already at the destination

If you are already at your destination and have a return flight scheduled between July 30, 2026, and August 4, 2026, you can contact your NexusTours representative. You will be able to make a single change to your return flight without penalty, subject to availability. Customers returning earlier can request a refund for unused nights, payable as a travel voucher using the customer service form . Any extended hotel stays must be paid for by the customer.

For customers who have made a Top Chrono Discount reservation, our team will contact you by email as soon as we have received the information from the tour operators.
