Description

Much of the tourist area is right on an ecological reserve, which makes the place very clean and tap water drinkable. The inhabitants of the small towns along the Pacific coast are also very warm and friendly. Huatulco is a great destination to try if you like to melt with other cultures.

What to do in Huatulco


Beaches

The Huatulco region is made up of several small bays with golden sand beaches. Among the good addresses, there is Huatulco Bay, Playa San Augustin, and Maguey Bay. Snorkeling aficionados will also be delighted with the many colorful fish and coral reefs.


Magic Falls

The Magic Falls are not to be missed. In the heart of the jungle, you can swim in the crystal clear waters of these magnificent waterfalls. The bravest can even try the Tarzan rope. A word of advice: bring your water shoes so you don't slip on the rocks.


Hagia Sophia Ecological Park

If you love nature, you will love Hagia Sophia Ecological Park. There you can admire several species of butterflies and flowers, taste different tropical fruits, bathe in the waterfall and stroll the beautiful paths.


Whale and dolphin observation

Take advantage of your vacation in Huatulco to set sail and relax in the sun on a catamaran. As you wander the waters surrounding the area, keep an eye out for whales and dolphins in the distance. Don't forget your camera to capture this moment.

Currency

The country's official currency is the Mexican Peso (MXN). ATMs are easily found in Mexico. U.S. dollars, credit and debit cards are also accepted almost everywhere. Remember to communicate the dates of your stay to your banking institution if you plan to use your cards in Mexico.
