A very beautiful and intimate place. I had read that the rooms were a bit dated, and in my case, that was true, but mine was very clean and comfortable. The beach and pools are superb. Good food at the buffet as well as at the à la carte restaurants. I would definitely go back.
Très bel endroit, intime. J'avais lu que les chambres étaient un peu désuètes et pour ma part c'est vrai, mais elle était très propre et confortable. Plage et piscines sont superbes. Bonne bouffe au buffet ainsi qu'aux restos à la carte. J'y retournerais sans hésiter.

An affordable oasis of tranquility (approx. 2500 CAD single occupancy, standard room, 21 days in August).

FOOD/WINE/BAR: Themed buffet was good and varied. Didn't try the à la carte restaurants. Good red wine (Tempranillo/Syrah). Less fond of the white (Sauvignon Blanc). Perhaps a matter of taste. Basic cocktails were good but sweet. They have more upscale spirits for sale in the lobby bar. BEACH: Clean, golden sand, not many small pieces of seaweed collected by tractor every morning, no sargassum, warm but always murky water. STAFF: Generally friendly and helpful, though not always pushy about tips. They appreciate it when you give them one. SAFETY/SOLICITING: Good security, little solicitation on the hotel grounds, no prostitution (a plus for me; old North American "uncles" with poor young Dominican women is not something I want to see on vacation...), use of personal speakers not allowed in shared areas (a big plus for me after being disturbed several times by disrespectful guests at other all-inclusives). ROOM: Very clean, good firm mattress, impeccable bedding/towels, shower with telephone and always hot water and good pressure, fairly quiet and efficient A/C (even at 42°C), the lampshades are faded and the dresser in the closet is functional but damaged inside. OVERALL CONDITION/CLEANLINESS: Very clean everywhere, even the public restrooms. The B&B was built in the 80s and renovated in 2006. Fairly well maintained except for the pools. In particular, the small spa pool, apart from the first three rows of tiles, is almost entirely black around the edges, probably due to worn grout. In my opinion, this is more a problem of wear and tear than maintenance (the water is chlorinated and changed regularly). ACTIVITIES: Available, but didn't participate because of the heat. Good rock-and-roll show.
NOURRITURE/VINS/BAR: buffet à thèmes bon et varié. Pas essayé restos à la carte. Bon vin rouge (tempranillo/syrah). Moins aimé le blanc (sauvignon blanc). Peut-être question de goût. Cocktails de base bons mais sucrés. Ont des alcools plus de luxe en vente au "lobby bar".
More... Less...PLAGE: propre, sable doré, petites algues pas nombreuses ramassées par tracteur chaque matin, pas de sargasses, eau chaude mais toujours brouillée.
PERSONNEL: gentil et serviable en général sans toujours avoir la main tendue pour du pourboire. Ils apprécient quand on leur en donne.
SÉCURITÉ/SOLLICITATION : bonne sécurité, peu de sollicitation sur terrain de l'hôtel, pas de prostitution (un plus pour moi, vieux "mononcles" nord-américains avec jeunes dominicaines pauvres pas quelque chose que j'ai le goût de voir en vacances...), usage de haut-parleurs personnels non permis dans les lieux partagés (un gros plus pour moi après avoir été dérangée à plusieurs reprises par des clients non-respectueux dans d'autres tout-inclus).
CHAMBRE: très propre, bon matelas ferme, litterie/serviettes impeccables, douche-téléphone avec toujours eau chaude et bonne pression, A/C assez silencieux et efficace (même à 42C), les abats-jours sont défraichis et la commode dans le garde-robe fonctionnelle mais abîmée à l'intérieur.
ÉTAT GÉNÉRAL/PROPRETÉ : très propre partout même toilettes publiques. Le BB a été construit dans les années 80 rénové en 2006. Assez bien maintenu sauf piscines. En particulier, la petite piscine du spa, à part les 3 premières rangées de tuiles les autres, probablement par usure de coulis, sont presque à toutes noires autour. D'après moi plus un problème d'usure que d'entretien (eau chlorée et changée régulièrement).
ACTIVITÉS: présentes, mais à cause de la chaleur pas participé. Bon spectacle rock-and-roll.

Contemplation
A magnificent, relaxing, and contemplative week. A very varied buffet, and overall the dishes were delicious. There was something for everyone, and restaurants offering something completely different! I'd love to come back for a longer stay.

There wasn't much to do, there were only a few customers...we felt really alone!
