A very beautiful trip
Tres beau Voyage
Spend a week at Casa Marina in the upper section. There's the regular section (the first building near the lobby with the large pool and activities), the superior section (closer to the buffet area but also with a nice pool, though without music), and the Select section (another section at the back of the resort, 18+). With a room on the first floor, the pool is so close it's like a swim-up room without the price. Located very close to the town of Sosua, we took the opportunity to leave the resort and catch a few Canadiens playoff games at a local bar that seems to appeal to many Quebecers.
Passez une semaine au Casa Marina dans la section supérieur car il y as régulier (premier bâtiment près du Lobby avec la grosse piscine et les activités), il y as le supérieur qui es proche du buffet mais contient également une belle piscine mais sans musique cette fois ci) et la version Select ( une autre section dans le fond du resort qui es 18+). Avec une chambre au premier étage la piscine es tellement proche que c'est comme une chambre swim access sans le prix.
More... Less...Situer tout près de la ville de Sosua nous en avons profiter pour sortir du resort et allez voir quelques match de series du Canadien dans un bar local qui tent a plaire beaucoup au Quebecois.

It's a very beautiful resort! Lots of vegetation and the scenery is magnificent. It's clean and well-maintained. The beach is small, but there are lounge chairs on the rocky area with several small infinity pools. The à la carte restaurants are decent, except for the one on the Select side, which was truly delicious. A cut above! At the buffet, you're spoiled for choice! The food is good and varied, and for those who love fruit, you won't be disappointed! If you like large, luxury hotels, Casa Marina isn't for you. If you prefer smaller, more intimate hotels, you'll love it. You can safely go out into the town of Sosua; it's a lovely walk. If you're generous with tips, your stay will be more enjoyable, because some employees will make sure you feel it. Denisse and Hugo, on the other hand, are incredibly kind! Find their bar! If you book your trip with WestJet or Sunwing, make sure you get your departure details (e.g., the meeting time in the lobby for the airport transfer). Gerald, the Sunwing representative, isn't very friendly and doesn't seem very helpful. In short, I recommend Casa Marina! Have a good trip!
C'est un très beau resort! Beaucoup de végétation et les paysages sont magnifiques. C'est propre et bien entretenu.
More... Less...La plage est petite, mais y'a des chaises longues sur la rocailles avec plusieurs petites piscines à effet infini.
Les restaurants à la carte sont correctes, à l'exception de celui du côté Sélect qui était vraiment délicieux. Une coche au-dessus! Au buffet, on est gâté! La nourriture est bonne et variée et pour ceux qui aiment les fruits, vous n'en manquerez pas!
Si vous aimez les grands hôtels de luxe, le Casa Marina n'est pas pour vous. Si vous aimez des plus petits hôtels chaleureux, vous allez adorer.
On peut sortir dans la ville de Sosua en toute sécurité, c'est une belle marche.
Si vous êtes généreux en pourboires, votre séjour sera plus agréable, parce que certains employés vous le feront sentir.
Denisse et Hugo, par contre, sont hyper gentils! Trouvez leur bar!
Si vous booker votre voyage avec WestJet ou Sunwing, assurez-vous d'obtenir les détails de votre départ (p.e l'heure de rassemblement au lobby pour le transfert à l'aéroport). Gerald, le représentant Sunwing n'est pas trop sympathique et n'est pas du genre à vouloir aider..
En résumé, je recommande le Casa Marina!

Don't underestimate the Dominican Republic's sunshine! Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen. I ate very well, both at the buffet and the à la carte restaurants, and reservations are easy. The rooms are clean, but not very modern. I recommend the Puerto Plata city tour for a great Republican experience. 👌 For those who like to compare, these aren't the beaches of Cuba, and if they were, they would be a 5-star. Small beach, no seaweed, great for snorkeling. I'll go back. Happy holidays!
Ne sous-estimez pas les rayons de soleil de la République! Crème solaire, crème solaire, crème solaire. J'ai très bien mangé autant au buffet qu'aux restos à la carte et il est facile de réserver. Les chambres sont propres, mais pas au goût du jour.
