The Casa Marina Reef resort is located right in the heart of the action in Sosua. By staying at either of the two Casa Marina properties, you have access to both complexes and, of course, their respective amenities. Casa Marina Beach is situated directly on the beach, while Reef is perched on a rocky cliff and features small jacuzzis that are a favorite among most guests. You also have access to the public beach next to the hotel, as well as the private beach at Casa Marina Beach. The hotel offers a choice of four restaurants, several bars and swimming pools, a nightclub, and evening entertainment.
The overall cleanliness of the resort and rooms is highly praised, complemented by a welcoming and dedicated staff. The beaches are considered beautiful and clean, and the resort is well-maintained, offering lovely pools. Furthermore, the food is generally good, with the à la carte restaurants being well-regarded. However, it is sometimes mentioned that the rooms can appear dated or in need of renovation. Occasionally, the buffet food is described as repetitive, and the drinks are sometimes perceived as being watered down.

Absolutely unsanitary
Carrément insalubre
We brought bedbugs home with us! Upon arrival, the room we were given was nothing like what we had booked. What's more, we had two single beds instead of a double! The room was filthy, with a slimy substance dripping from stains on the ceiling. We asked for a room change, but were told it was impossible due to lack of space... The hotel wasn't even that busy! The services described on the website at the time of booking were completely unremarkable. In short, a disaster, and to this day, we haven't received any response from the agency regarding our new little friends brought back from the Dominican Republic!

Beautiful Weather, But the Resort Fell Short
Beautiful Weather, But the Resort Fell Short
We recently stayed at this resort and unfortunately had a few disappointing experiences. On our second night, we found bugs in our bed, which was very off-putting. I took photos and video as proof. While they did move us to another room on the third floor, it was in the same building and honestly felt just as run-down and not very clean.
The cleaning staff themselves were lovely and very friendly, which we appreciated. However, there were other frustrating things. We were only given one key card for the room—despite being a couple—which made things really inconvenient. We also had to pay $25 USD for the room safe, something we’ve never encountered before, and another $25 USD per person for Wi-Fi over two weeks. That seemed excessive.
The beach setup was another letdown. The bar near the "select" side only had about 7 umbrellas for shade, which was nowhere near enough for the number of guests. The public beach on the other side of the resort had no nearby bar or washrooms, and with my knee issues, going up and down stairs constantly just wasn’t doable—so I stuck to the pool near the buffet, which honestly could use some TLC and a fresh coat of paint. The other pool with all the activities was just too loud and busy for us. Also, it seemed like everything—better seating, nicer areas, and amenities—was reserved for the Select guests.
Food-wise, the buffet was quite good, but the à la carte restaurants were disappointing. The snack bar lacked variety and would really benefit from some rotating options.
On the plus side, the weather was absolutely amazing. We’re usually pretty easygoing when it comes to vacation, but this resort missed the mark in too many areas for us to want to return. It wasn’t the worst experience, but definitely not one we’d revisit.

Undrinkable wine!!!!!
Vin imbuvable !!!!!
Please change the wine, it is simply not drinkable! We had to buy wine at the grocery store and in the second week we could not drink it at the restaurants because they started selling it! We paid for an all-inclusive and this for 28 days, it is deplorable! As for the buffet, it is very good and well diversified and the staff is very dedicated and kind.

Very bad experience.
Très mauvaise expérience.
The room I got had no common sense, no hot water, no remote control for the TV and no balcony to sit outside. I asked to change rooms several times without success. It's very unpleasant to go back to the desk to complain every day. I felt like I was being laughed at. In addition, the room was on the top floor with a low wall that obstructs the outside view. It's room 245. I want compensation.
