Résumé des avis

Guests appreciate the friendly staff and the cleanliness of the hotel, including the bungalows. Its proximity to Trinidad is a plus. Furthermore, the buffet food is considered decent and the small beach is pleasant, all offering good value for money. However, the buffet is sometimes considered repetitive, with occasionally limited choices.

Basic hotel with few amenities. I stayed on the second floor of a separate building from the main building. The room was clean, the mattresses were new, as was the air conditioning unit. There was no hot water all week, and sometimes no water at all for several hours. The safe was out of order, as was the case in several rooms. The television, with only about four or five channels, had poor reception. The electricity cut out occasionally, but it never lasted very long. The Wi-Fi worked very well for me. The buffet was very limited but good, though a bit cold in the self-service section. The food cooked in front of us (fish, pork, and chicken) was very good. There were few dessert options. The grounds are scattered with rocks, but you can find a way around them; I've seen worse. The staff is very courteous, and the bars serve basic drinks. There was no wine available all week, neither at the buffet nor in the bars. You could buy a bottle of white wine at the convenience store (opening hours unpredictable) for about ten dollars. The tourist bus service works well and takes you to Trinidad for $5. In short, for $590 I felt safe on the site and my overall experience was satisfactory. Don't overpay!

Ideal for rest.
idéal pour le repos.

We really like the Costa Sur; this is our third stay. The place is incredibly peaceful. We stayed in a bungalow right on the beach, with warm, calm water and no seaweed. The bungalow was always spotless, thanks to our housekeeper. The staff is welcoming and professional. The buffet menu is quite repetitive, which is understandable given the limited food available, but we never ran out of bread, pasta, butter, or eggs. Chicken, pork, and fish were regularly available and well-prepared. If you're not a picky eater, it's perfectly adequate. It's unfortunate that the staff had to tell us they were out of sparkling water, cola, Fanta, and even rum, which were often unavailable when we asked for them. It's not the servers' fault, but it's still disappointing for the guests. We were never able to eat at the poolside snack bar... and it's truly a shame that the à la carte restaurant is still closed, such a lovely spot with a view of the sea and the sunset. The beach access, walkways, stairs, and beach bar have been renovated, which is great. We were treated to two special dinners the night before our departure. This thoughtful touch was much appreciated. The staff went out of their way to offer us a meal different from the buffet. It was excellent. Our flight landed in Cienfuegos, which was an advantage, as the transfer from Santa Clara to the hotel is much longer. A bus runs hourly every day to Trinidad for $5 round trip per person, making it possible to visit the city on a budget. Wi-Fi was available, free of charge, in the lobby and at the buffet. Beach towels were in our room upon arrival, and exchanging them with the housekeeper was easy. The safe was also provided free of charge. We always had bottled water in our room, every day. There were a few brief power outages, flashes lasting only a few moments. We never ran out of water or hot water in the room. There were a few mosquitoes... but it's hot, so that's to be expected. The temperature was very pleasant, with only two cloudy days with a little rain out of fourteen. Overall, we are very satisfied with our stay and will return without hesitation, as we truly appreciate the tranquility and beauty of this location, as well as the kindness of the staff. Stay from November 5th to 19th, 2025

No electricity in town so no activity

Beautiful hotel, cooperative staff, superb beach, but it's Cuba now, it lacks everything, especially the food. The buffet is pathetic, although we still have meat at every meal, except when the horde of Cubans are there, you have to wait at least half an hour to be served.
