Overall I would give it a 4/5. I'll start with the positive: the food is excellent in all the buffets as well as the pizza bar. A different theme for the main buffet every night of the week, so it doesn't feel redundant, and of course the food is delicious. We tried 2 à la carte restaurants: Tex Mex and Italian, not impressed at all we preferred the buffet by far!! The drinks are also very good, the place is extremely clean (public restrooms, rooms, grounds in general, pool). They even wash the tiles outside with a brush and soap! In the rooms also very clean and mini bar stocked with liquors and beers. The entertainment for children is really extraordinary and there is supervision at the water games by staff members so that's good too because we know that there are always parents watching their children and they do bad things! Now the "weak" points: the staff members do not seem to know that smiles are free! Most of them look as dumb as their feet, make mistakes in the orders or forget certain drinks. That's not the service of Cuba, I can tell you unfortunately. The good side of that is that I saved some tips because I don't leave tips to someone who is not able to bring me a glass of water lol. Also the club rooms: small and outdated, I understand that these are the cheapest rooms but at $1900 per adult I would have expected better! And finally, the water dispensers were empty every morning. In itself, if you refill your bottle in the evening/afternoon or go to the bar to get some, it's okay, but it's still an irritant. Basically, the shortcoming in this hotel is, in my opinion, the service! I wouldn't go back for this reason.

En tout je donnerais un 4/5. Je vais commencer par le positif: la nourriture est excellente dans tous les buffets ainsi que le pizza bar. Un thème différent pour le buffet principal chaque soir de la semaine, ça évite donc que ce soit redondant, et biensur la nourriture est succulente. Nous avons essayé 2 restos à la carte: tex mex et italien, pas impressionnés du tout nous avons préféré le buffet de loin!! Les drinks aussi sont très bons, l'endroit est extrêmement propres (toilettes publiques, chambres, terrains en général, piscine). Ils lavent même les dales dehors avec brosse et savon! Dans les chambres aussi très propres et mini bar rempli avec liqueurs et bières. L'animation pour les enfants est vraiment extraordinaire et il y a de la surveillance aux jeux d'eau par des membres du personnel donc ça c'est bien aussi car on sait qu'il y a toujours des parents qui surveillent par leurs enfants et qu'ils font des mauvais coups! Maintenant les points "faibles": les membres du personnel ne semblent pas au courant que les sourires sont gratuits! La plupart ont l'air bête comme leurs pieds, se trompent dans les commandes ou oublie certains breuvages. C'est pas le service de Cuba ça je peux vous le dire malheureusement. Le bon côté de ça c'est que j'ai sauvé du tip parce que je ne laisse pas de pourboires à quelqu'un qui est pas capable de m'apporter un verre d'eau lol. Aussi les chambres club: petites et désuètes, je comprend que c'est les chambres moins chères mais à 1900$ par adulte je me serais attendue à mieux! Et finalement, les distributeurs d'eau étaient vides chaque matin. En soi si tu remplies ta bouteille le soir/en après-midi ou que tu vas au bar en chercher c'est ok, mais ça reste un irritant. En gros la lacune dans cet hôtel est selon moi le service! Je n'y retournerais pas pour cette raison.

This was our first experience at this hotel. A warm welcome at reception with special attention to finding rooms nearby with our friends. At first glance, the hotel is nice, you can see that it's not very new, but everything is very clean and functional. But this is the first time we've been to a resort that puts so much effort into themed meals: outdoor Mexican dinner with a band, dinners on the beach with the catch of the day, outdoor dinner and beach party by the water. In short, a lot of effort is put into making us have great experiences. We hardly went to the à la carte restaurants considering that the "regular" dinners were really interesting! The food is good and the theme changes every day. The beach is one of the most beautiful in the entire bay. We took advantage of it with the bodyboards. The view is magnificent with the mountains surrounding the bay. Beautiful walks every day! You can also walk safely in the street outside the resort. In short, a very nice relaxing experience.

C’était notre première expérience à cet hôtel. Bel accueil à la réception avec une attention particulière pour trouver des chambres à proximité avec nos amis. À première vue l’hôtel est bien, on voit un peu qu’il n’est pas tout jeune, mais tout est très propre et fonctionnel. Mais c’est la première fois qu’on va à un resort qui met autant d’effort pour les repas thématiques: souper extérieur mexicain avec un band, dîners sur la plage avec la prise du jour, souper extérieur et beach party au bord de l’eau. Bref, beaucoup d’efforts sont mis pour nous faire vivre de belles expériences. Nous n’avons pratiquement pas été dans les restos à la carte considérant que les soupers « réguliers » étaient vraiment intéressants! La nourriture est bonne et la thématique change à tous les jours. La plage est une des plus belles de toute la baie. On en a profité avec les bodyboards. La vue est magnifique avec les montagnes qui entourent la baie. De belles marches à tous les jours! On peut aussi marcher dans la rue de manière sécuritaire à la sortie du resort. Bref, une très belle expérience relaxante.

The only negative comment I would have would be that the buffet is very average, especially for lunch and dinner. Other than that, the other aspects of the hotel are very good.

Le seul commentaire négatif que j'aurais serais que le buffet est très moyen spécialement pour les repas du midi et du soir. À part ça les autres aspects de l'hôtel sont très bien.

We spent two weeks at the Marival from January 18 to February 1, 2023. We have been coming here for 10 years. This year it was difficult to get à la carte restaurants. On Sunday mornings you have to be up at 7 a.m. to reserve them for the week. If you arrive at the hotel on Monday or Tuesday, good luck booking, there is nothing left. The buffet food was lukewarm and there is much less choice. At lunchtime there is the buffet and beach restaurant, but the pizzeria is closed, which has never happened in the past. Also disappointing in the à la carte restaurants, we have to pay for the steaks now, that is unheard of!! The rooms are always clean, but the fridge, where we find a few cans of soft drinks and two beers, was never refilled after our two-week stay, even with tips every day. I give a score of 10 to the staff, who are always helpful and smiling. The temperature was perfect. I hope my comments will be constructive and passed on to the Marival Émotion.

Nous avons passé deux semaines au Marival du 18 janvier au 1 février 2023. Nous y venons depuis 10 ans. Cette année difficulté à obtenir des restos à la carte. Le dimanche matin on doit être debout à 7 hres pour les réserver pour la semaine. Si vous arrivez à l hôtel le lundi ou mardi alors bonne chance pour réserver il ne reste rien. La nourriture du buffet était tiède et bcp moins de choix. Le midi il y a le buffet et resto de la plage mais la pizzeria est fermée ce qui n est jamais arrivé par le passé. Aussi déception dans les restos à la carte on doit payer les steaks maintenant ça c est du jamais vu!! Les chambres toujours propres mais le frigo où on retrouve quelques canettes de boissons gazeuses et deux bières n a jamais été rempli après notre séjour de deux semaines même avec pourboire tous les jours. Je donne une note de 10 au personnel toujours serviable et souriant. La température était au rendez-vous. J espère que mes commentaires seront constructifs et transmis au Marival Émotion.
