Really friendly staff! Some speak a little French. Large, functional room, but a bit dated. Very large resort with lots of stairs. Annoying raccoons on the property. A vendor (massage only) on the beach was intrusive; the others selling souvenirs were fine. Beautiful beach, a little coral at the entrance, but no need for water shoes. Very warm, shallow water. The jet skis were annoying and smelled of gas. Plenty of chairs and palapas on the beach. The gym is old and basic but still functional with several treadmills and bikes. Activities are scheduled on time. No daily water aerobics. Good, varied food. The à la carte restaurants were good with super-fast service. Off-site activities are expensive but interesting. Scuba diving staff were really friendly and safe, but the coral was brown.

Personnel vraiment sympathique! Certains parlent un peu français. Grande chambre fonctionnelle mais un peu vieillotte. Tres grand site avec beaucoup de marches. Ratons laveurs sur le site agaçants. Vendeur (massage seulement) dérangeant sur la plage, les autres avec souvenirs ok. Plage belle, un peu de coraux à l’entrée mais pas besoin de souliers d’eau. Eau très chaude, peu profonde. See doo dérangeants avec odeur de gaz. Pas mal de chaises et palapa sur la plage. Gym est vieux et minimal mais tout de même fonctionnel avec plusieurs tapis et vélos. Activités à l’heure. Pas d’aquagym quotidien. Bonne nourriture variée. Restaurants à la carte bon et service super rapide. Les activités hors site sont dispendieuses mais intéressantes. Plongée sous marine personnel vraiment sympathique et sécuritaire mais coraux bruns.

The beach is absolutely gorgeous with turquoise water free of seaweed and white sand, but it's not a very long walk and there are a few rocks at the water's edge. The standard room in block 6 was more than adequate: clean, well-located, with a safe, and we even had a beachfront room. The only downside was the lack of coffee in the room and the fact that the lobby bar (with an espresso machine) didn't open until 8:00 AM. Otherwise, filter coffee was available at the buffet from 6:00 AM (not very good). The staff was very friendly, but they didn't speak a word of French or English. The clientele was 98% Latino. This didn't cause us any problems, as we managed to make ourselves understood and even learned several words in Spanish. Also, you need to be reasonably fit to walk and climb a lot of stairs; the resort is enormous. The buffet was varied, and we were very pleased with the quality of the food; perhaps only the desserts weren't quite up to scratch. Of course, you have to be open to eating something other than North American food. The snack bar was really excellent with plenty of choices. The Italian à la carte restaurant was very good, as was the seafood restaurant. There were two swimming pools, one with entertainment and the other a quieter one. They were large and clean, and not crowded, as most people preferred to go to the beach. There was a bit of a shortage of beach chairs, depending on when guests arrived. You had to reserve chairs around 7:00 a.m. to get a good spot. The journey is long because of the traffic, and part of the route is unpaved, so the bus traveled at 15-20 km/h. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it without hesitation. I mainly wanted to give you an informed and honest review. The price is higher than other destinations, but the change of scenery and the beach are well worth it.

La plage est absolument magnifique avec une eau turquoise sans algue et sable blanc, mais pas très long pour marcher et un peu de roches à l’entrée de l’eau. La chambre régulière du bloc 6 était plus que bien, propre, bien situé, avec coffre-fort, nous étions en plus face à la mer. Le seul bémol, c’est qu’il n’y avait pas de café dans la chambre et que le bar du lobby (avec machine à expresso) ouvrait à 8h. Sinon, il y avait de la disponibilité de café filtre au buffet à partir de 6h (pas très bon). Le personnel était très gentil, mais il ne parlait pas un mot en français et en anglais. La clientèle était à 98% latinos. Ce qui nous a causé aucun souci, car nous réussissions à nous faire comprendre et nous avons appris plusieurs mots en espagnol. De plus, il faut être quand même en forme pour marcher et monter beaucoup d’escaliers, le site est énorme. Le buffet est varié et nous avons été très satisfait de voir la qualité de la nourriture, il y avait peut-être que les desserts qui n’étaient pas au top. Il faut bien sûr être ouvert à manger autres choses que de la nourriture nord américaine. Le snack bar était vraiment très bien avec beaucoup de choix. Le resto à la carte italien était très bon et celui de fruit de mer aussi. Il y avait 2 piscines, dont une avec l’animation et l’autre tranquille. Elles étaient grande et propre avec peu de monde, car la majorité préférait aller à la plage. Il y manquait un peu de chaises à la plage, dépendant de l’arrivée de la clientèle. Il fallait réserver les chaises autour de 7h pour avoir un bon emplacement.

En effet, la route est longue, car il y a du trafic et qu’une partie de la route se fait sur de la route non asphaltée, donc le bus roulait à 15-20 km/h.

Finalement, dans l’ensemble, nous avons vraiment aimé notre séjour et nous le recommandons sans hésiter. Je voulais surtout vous faire un contre rendu éclairé et sincère. Le prix est plus cher que d’autres destinations, mais le dépaysement et la plage en vaut largement la peine.

The staff were kind and friendly but generally only spoke Spanish. The buffet was decent but lacked variety (it was repetitive), and the à la carte restaurants were disappointing. Activities were only offered in Spanish, which wasn't convenient for non-Spanish speakers.

Les activités étaient proposées seulement en espagnol, ce qui n'était pas pratique pour des personnes ne parlant pas espagnol.

It is mentioned in the international alcoholic drinks package Very difficult to get good international drinks… (Bloody Mary, margarita, black Russian etc, etc.) (not tomato juice, not brandy, rare coffee liqueur etc. On the other hand, the red and white wines were good. We were on the 3rd floor and there were animals (like raccoons) running above our rooms, they woke us up and kept us awake for a few nights, it was quite noisy. We had an extraordinary Transat guide who was very kind and spoke good French.

Très difficile d’avoir des bons drinks internationaux…( Bloody Mary, margarita, black Russian etc, etc.) ( pas jus tomate, pas brandy, liqueur de café rare etc.
Par contre les vins rouge et blanc étaient bien.
Nous étions au 3 étage et il y avait des animaux ( style raton laveur) qui couraient au dessus de nos chambres cela nous réveillaient et nous empêchaient de dormir quelques nuits ça brassait pas mal .
Nous avons eu un guide Transat extraordinaire très gentil qui parlait bien le français.

Beautiful pool, rocky beach, average food and no one speaks English or French. The hotel is very far away on a bumpy road.

De belle piscine, plage plein de roche, la nourriture ordinaire et personne ne parle anlgais ou français.
