It depends on what you're looking for.
Dépend de ce qu’on recherche

For a change of pace, it's fun because you can easily travel between the Decameron Marazul and the San Luis, easily accessible by bus. It's easy to rent a side-by-side to get around the island where there are a few places to see. The Decameron Aquarium is closed, and the Islano is inaccessible as it's a higher-end resort. Beach: There isn't really a beach. There was sargassum seaweed, and the first 200 meters of water were very murky. It was so windy that the waves were strong, and going by boat was less than enjoyable. Even the island's most beautiful beach was mediocre, probably due to the winds, and you have to pay for the chairs. Room: We had the nicest room, the one at the end with all windows overlooking the sea, but the air conditioning was excessively noisy and there was no hot water for two days. Restaurant: There's only a buffet, but it was very good and no complaints. No toaster; you had to put the bread on the egg tray. Luckily, I saw someone do it after a week without toast. Bar: small bar, but they play the music so loud it's unbearable. Same thing at the pool in the afternoon; the guy shouts into the microphone, playing guessing games, always in Spanish. Staff: really friendly. All the employees and the manager, Daniel, liked us, which helped us get reservations at the restaurants that other hotels had to book in the morning. Others weren't so lucky… Tourists: there are only Spaniards from Colombia, Peru, etc. About ten Canadians. Evening: nothing to do except walk towards the town center, north of the sea. Very pretty, but nothing more. For scuba diving enthusiasts, it's a good place.

A very nice week!
Une très belle semaine!

The hotel is small and quiet, well located, the staff friendly, the food delicious! On the other hand the drinks are not good, and the espresso machine is at the bar which only opens at 11am in the morning. We appreciated the small beach of the hotel, and we loved being able to go out easily on foot and by taxi. San Andrés is a very touristy place, we did not really feel the local culture.. We took advantage of the access to the other Decameron, and the Maryland is our favorite.
