Dreams Dominicus La Romana

We stayed at Dreams for 10 days, from April 3rd to 12th, and we loved it! The beach and the sea were amazing! The buffet was very good and varied, and the staff was great! There were six of us, and two people were sick one night! Take probiotics before you go; they help. The à la carte restaurants are very good! We didn't get the Preferred Club, and in my case, it wasn't worth it!

Nous n’avions pas pris le club prefered et dans mon cas ça ne veut pas la peine !

Food poisoning day #5 (with fever). First time this has happened to us in the Dominican Republic after 12 trips to this country. There are sick people every week at this hotel, sometimes even every day. It's probably the buffet, but we can't be sure. Both of us were sick two hours apart. Perhaps it's cross-contamination or improper food storage; the food seems to sit on the buffet for a long time without proper rotation, and more than 50% of the time the pizza is cold... or the way they heat and cool the food causes the proliferation of Bacillus aerus (bacteria). It's a shame because it's a good hotel, but the management isn't doing anything to stop the cases of illness... just being on the beach, people in front of us and behind us (Quebecers) were sick. If the hotel management doesn't change, the cases will continue. In 2019 and 2022, we had zero problems. I notified the Hyatt chain before and after my return and it seems that they are just passing the communication on to the hotel without taking action (on-site health check, due diligence etc), the head office is not getting involved.

Intoxication alimentaire jour #5 ( avec fièvre). 1ere fois en république dominicaine que cela nous arrive après 12 voyages dans ce pays. Il y a des personnes malades a chaque semaine à cet hôtel, voir à chaque jour. C'est probablement le buffet mais on ne peut pas savoir. Les 2 ont a été malades à 2 heures d'intervalle. Peut-être de la contamination croisée ou mauvaise conservation des aliments; les aliments semblent rester longtemps au buffet sans rotation adéquate , plus de 50% du temps la pizza est froide... ou la façon de réchauffer et refroidir les aliments cause la prolifération de bacillus aerus ( bacterie). Dommage car c'est un bon hôtel, mais la direction de cet hôtel ne fais rien pour que les cas de gens malades arrêtent... juste à être sur la plage , des gens devant nous et derrière ( québécois) ont été malades. Si la direction de cet hôtel ne change pas, les cas vont continuer. En 2019 et 2022 , nous avions eu zéro problème. J'ai avisé la chaîne hyatt avant et après mon retour et on dirait qu'ils font juste transmettre la communication à l'hôtel sans agir (vérification sanitaire sur place, due diligence etc) , la maison mère ne s'en mêle pas.

We had a wonderful week as a family during spring break. We had a room in building 56 with a swim-out. The resort: the resort is quite small, about a 10-minute walk from one end to the other, and everything is very well located. It's very clean and well-maintained. The public restrooms are clean. There are always chairs available, whether at the pool or the beach. Room: our room showed some signs of wear, but the staff does their best to maintain a high level of cleanliness; the room is cleaned daily, and the refrigerator is restocked daily. Beach: probably the most beautiful I've ever seen, no seaweed, the water depth is gradual, plenty of space for chairs, and the possibility of snorkeling along an artificial reef a little further out. Buffets and restaurant: abundant and really good food. The à la carte restaurant doesn't require reservations, and we went there six times. We didn't get sick, and we ate sushi and tuna tartare. I only have two slightly negative comments: paying for the Preferred Club isn't really worth it since there's no control over who has access, and for late risers, the staff start their morning routine and they're a bit noisy. In short, I highly recommend the Dream Dominicus for its cleanliness, the superb beach, all the incredibly kind and helpful staff, the very good drinks, and the excellent food. Nous avons passé une superbe semaine en famille durant la semaine de relâche. Nous avions une chambre dans le building 56 avec un swim out.

Le site : le resort est assez petit, environ 10 minutes de marche d'un bout à l'autre et tout est très bien situé. C'est très propre et bien entretenu. Les toilettes publiques sont propres. Il y a toujours des chaises disponibles que ce soit à la piscine ou la plage.

Chambre: notre chambre démontrait des signes d'usures , mais le personnel font de leur mieux pour maintenir une grande propreté , la chambre est fait à tout les jours et le frigidaire renouveller à chaque jours.

Plage : probablement la plus belle que j'ai vue, pas d'algues, la profondeur de l'eau est graduel, beaucoup de place pour les chaises et possibilité de faire du snorkelling le long d'un récif artificiel un peu plus loin.

Buffets et restaurant : nourriture abondante et vraiment bonne. Restaurant à la carte pas de réservation et nous y avons été 6 fois. On a pas été malade et on a mangé des suhis et tartare de thon.

J'aurais seulement deux commentaire plus négatif, payer pour le prefered club n'en vaut pas vraiment la peine puisque qu'il n'y a pas de contrôle sur qui en à l'accès et pour les lève tard, le personnel commence leur routine de bonheur et ils sont un peu bruyant.

En résumé je recommande fortement le Dream dominicus, pour la propreté, la superbe plage, tout le personnel qui sont super gentil et serviable, les très bons drink et la nourriture excellente.
