The site is very large, so there's a lot of walking and stairs; it's not suitable for older people.

This hotel requires a $500 USD deposit (approximately $700 Canadian) in case anything breaks, but everything in the room is old and likely to break soon. The staff, in general, are not very friendly or welcoming.

Swimming wasn't possible as there's no beach. Also, regarding free activities, ask your concierge, as they didn't mention them to me, and it was only after returning home, while talking with other travelers, that I realized there were free activities outside the hotel.

The food is very good, with plenty of à la carte restaurant options. The staff is friendly and the room is clean. The only downside is the lack of organization and communication at the hotel entrance when waiting for transportation to excursions. It's crowded, and it's hard to hear the bus names. Several free excursions were available, including Maroma Beach, a visit to Playa del Carmen, a catamaran trip, and snorkeling.

The site is beautiful, with several palm trees, and you can hear birds singing all day long. The people who work there are very friendly and the food is good. The rooms are due for renovations and the large blocks in the water are bigger than you see in the photos.
