Fantasy Island Beach Resort

This was our second stay at this hotel. Positive: Ideal for snorkeling, adults and children. On site you can choose tranquility by moving away from the pool. There are plenty of chairs available in the sun, shade or partial shade which is appreciated. The staff and locals are generally friendly and nice. Negative: Buffet quite repetitive and focused on local tastes (fajitas, beans, corn, eggs for dinner, ...) but this is understandable since more than 50% of the guests are locals. Only one a la carte restaurant and you have to pay to eat there.

C'était notre 2e séjour à cet hotel. Positif: Idéal pour la plongée masque et tuba, adultes et enfants. Sur place on peut choisir la tranquilité en s'éloignant de la piscine. Il y a beaucoup de chaises disponibles au soleil, à l'ombre ou à la mi-ombre ce qui est apprécié. Le personnel et les gens du pays sont en général amicaux et sympathiques. Négatif: Buffet passablement répétitif et axé sur les goûts des gens locaux (fajitas, bean, blé d'inde, oeufs au souper, ...) mais on peut le comprendre car il y a plus de 50% des clients qui sont des locaux. Un seul restaurant à la carte et en plus il faut payer pour y manger.

If you are a fan of diving or snorkeling. This is paradise! If you are looking for comfort and industrial quantities of food, you will be very disappointed. Simplicity and natural beauty will be there. Go to Mexico for luxury. Roatan is a unique and extraordinary place for divers. A place for diving only!

Si vous êtes adeptes de plonger ou de snorkling. C’est le paradis ! Si vous recherchez le confort et la nourriture en quantité industrielle vous serai très déçu. Simplicité et beauté naturelle seront au rendez-vous. Aller au Mexique pour le luxe. Roatan est un endroit unique et extraordinaire pour plongeur. Endroit pour plonger seulement!

FREEDIVING: Go to Fantasy for freediving, it's really beautiful. However, you have to go to the right place, i.e. to the red buoy in front of the gazebo and then go towards the flag and then continue towards the other red buoy. Obviously the colors are no longer very present but the structure of the seabed is super beautiful to see. I've already been to Média Luna and it's much more beautiful here. The beach is also more beautiful. FOOD: The buffet is good, you always find what you're looking for. It's true that the food is sometimes lukewarm or cold, but I think they're able to improve that easily. Visitors still have to close the lids. I spent my time closing them for others. The buffet is in an air-conditioned section, so if you don't close them, it gets cold quickly, but it's not just up to them. The pina colada is super good, like the frozen Bacardi from Quebec. BEACH: Super beautiful, always clean apart from the tourists who let themselves be dragged along, there are some nasty people but otherwise every morning the site is impeccable. No seaweed, no trash. ROOM: I was in section 200, large room, it smells good, air conditioning works well, hot water no problem, toilet flushes well, nothing to complain about. It doesn't smell of humidity, it's clean. Our first room 119, the bed was super comfortable for me but much too soft for my husband who is twice as heavy as me. We changed to 200 and there the bed was firmer. MOSQUITO: Bring your mosquito repellent. There were 4 of us, I have 65 bites on my body, the others I was with 5-6 each. There are people who have better taste than others, you have to believe it! ACTIVITIES: There is yoga every morning, dance classes in the afternoon, volleyball court, karioke in the evening. Saturday and Sunday evening entertainment (shows or games) Maybe something else but I went there for the freediving, I did 4 hours a day and I didn't get tired of it. SITE: The site is super beautiful, vegetation, beach, palm trees. Swimming pool. I'm more of a sea person but the pool was clean. There is a section with children's games, bar in the pool. WHAT I LIKED LESS: In the lobby you can hear the karioke at the same time as the music from the lobby bar. I went to ask twice to turn off the music from the bar because it was deafening and it was annoying. I think they should improve that by arranging the speakers differently and lowering the volume of the karioke, especially since not everyone sings well hi hi! We can hear each other, it's not a luxury but it's very acceptable in my opinion.

APNÉE: Allez au Fantasy pour l'apnée, c'est vraiment beau. Il faut toutefois allez au bon endroit soit jusquMà la bouée rouge en face du gazebo et ensuit aller vers le drapeau pour ensuite poursuivre ver l'autre bouée rouge. Évidement les couleurs ne sont plus très présente mais la structure des fonds marins est super belle à vois. J'ai déjà été au Média LUna et c'est beaucoup plus beau ici. la palge est également plus belle.

NOURRITURE: le buffet est bon, on toruve toujours son compte. C'est vrai que la nourriture est parfois tiède froide mais je crois qu'ils osnt capable d'amiliorer ca facilement. Encore faut il que les visiteurs ferment les couvercle. Je passait mon temps à ler fermer pour les autres. Le buffet est dans une section climatisée donc si on ne femre pas ca vient froid vite mais cela ne dépend pas juste d'eux. Le pina colada est super bon style la bacardi congelé du quebec.

PLAGE: super belle, toujours propre à part les touristes qui se laissent trainer, il y a du monde cochon mais sinon chaque matin le site est impeccable. Pas d'algues, pas de déchets.

CHAMBRE: J'étais dans la section 200, grande chambre, ca sent bon, clim fontionne bien, eau chaude aucun problème, toilette flush bien, rien à redire. Ca ne sent pas l'humidité, c'est propre. Notre premiere chambre 119, le lit était super confo pour moi mais beaucoup trop mou pour mon mari quie est 2 fois plus lourd que moi. On a changé pour 200 et là le lit était plus ferme.

MOUSTIQUE: Apportez votre chasse moustique. On était 4, moi j'ai 65 piqures sur le corps, les autres avec qui j'étais 5-6 chaque. Il y a des personnes qui goute meilleure que d'autres faut croire hi hi!

ACTIVITÉS: il y a yoga tous les matins, cours de danse en pm, terrain volley ball, karioké le soir. Samedi et dimanche animation en soirée (spectavles ou jeu) Peut-être autre chose mais moi j'allais là pour l'apnée, j'en faisais 4h par jour et je ne me suis pas tannée.

SITE: Le site est super beaux, végétation, plage, palmier.

Piscine. Je suis plus style mer mais la piscine elle était propre. Il y a une section avec jeu enfants, bar dans la piscine.

CE QUE J'AI MOINS AIMÉ: Au loby on entend la karioké en même temps que la musique du bar du lobby. Je suis allée demandé 2 fois d'éteindre la musique du bar car c'était étourdissant et ca venait agréssant. Je crois qu'ils devraient amelirer ca en disposant les haut parleur autrement et en baissant le son du karioké, surtout que ce n'est pas tout le monde qui chante bien hi hi!

On s'entend ce n'est pas le gros luxe mais c'est très acceptable selon moi.

Great week despite the state of the hotel. Renovations have begun for the common areas. Dining room and large terrace in the lobby. But the rooms are dismal, despite the cleanliness. Food is good, but never hot. During the day, the snack bar is always lacking everything. No service: at the reception, the girls are unfriendly, but the room was never made up before 5 p.m., no butler service, difficulty in obtaining eating utensils, food is brought drop by drop from the buffet. However, the location and the beach are beautiful, chairs in abundance at the beach, possibility of snorkeling on the beach. Even if we had planned ahead, the amount of mosquitoes is unpleasant. So, happy to add Roatan to my travel list, but I would not return!

Belle semaine malgré l'état de l'hôtel. Les rénovations sont débutés pour les airs communes. Salle à manger et grande terrasse au lobby. Mais les chambres sont lamentables, malgré la propreté.
Nourriture bonne, mais jamais chaude. Pendant la journée, le snack bar manque toujours de tout.
Aucun service : à l'accueil, les filles sont non-chalantes, mais chambre n'était jamais fait avant 17h, pas de service de majordome, difficulté à avoir des ustensiles pour manger, on apporte la nourriture au compte goûte au buffet.
Cependant, l'emplacement et la plage de toute beauté, des chaises en abondance à la plage, possibilité de faire de l'apnée sur la plage.
Même si nous avions prévus le coup, la quantité de moustique est désagréable.
Donc, contente d'ajouter le Roatan à ma liste de voyage, mais je n'y retournerais pas!
