Not a 5 star resort…
Not a 5 star resort…
So this is definitely not a 5-star resort, no matter what it’s advertised as. The only reason I can think it has a 5-star rating is because of the recent renovations. Yes, the resort looks beautiful and the staff was friendly, but that’s where the positives end.
The food was incredibly mediocre. They literally serve dishes from their à la carte restaurant on the everyday buffet. I’ve been to many all-inclusive resorts and have never seen that before. We’ve stayed at genuine 5-star resorts in the past, and this was nowhere close.
Also, don’t expect to enjoy the beach. It was covered in seaweed and had a terrible smell. It was so unpleasant that not a single person was swimming in the water during our stay, which completely made sense once you got close.
To be completely honest, this is a 3-star resort wrapped in a modern, renovated exterior. Had we known what the experience would actually be like, we never would have booked it.
What surprises me the most is that more people aren’t mentioning these issues in their reviews. If you’re looking for a true 5-star all-inclusive experience, I would strongly recommend choosing a different resort.

Beautiful room, very clean, the lady came to clean every day. The buffet is always incredibly varied, very fresh, and the products are good quality. It's easy to create a superb, healthy plate. The restaurants are decent, though not the most exciting. On the downside, the beach; an intense smell of sargassum seaweed made it impossible to stay there. The seaweed was everywhere, so we couldn't swim. Very disappointing.
Belle chambre, très propre, dame venait faire le ménage chaque jour. Le buffet est toujours hyper varié, très frais, bonne qualité de produits. Il est facile de se créer une superbe assiette santé. Restaurants pas mal, c'est pas des plus hot. Côté négatif, la plage; odeur intense de sargasses, impossibilité d'y rester, sargasses dans la mer, nous n'avons pas pu nous baigner. Très triste.

I gave it a 1 because there was a huge amount of sargassum which is out of their control...there were people who were collecting it but they made mega piles on each side so there was a terrible smell all week.
