I gave it a 1 because there was a huge amount of sargassum which is out of their control...there were people who were collecting it but they made mega piles on each side so there was a terrible smell all week.
Jai donner la note de 1
More...

Don't go there if you want to go to the beach.
The place is beautiful and clean, the room was amazing, and the food was generally acceptable. The Italian and wok dishes were delicious, but the steakhouse is best avoided. The biggest problem is the beach, which is terrible. First of all, it's tiny, absolutely tiny. Maybe a hundred chairs. And because of erosion, there's a two-foot-deep ravine you have to descend (it's a straight drop) to get to the water. In the water, there are large, slippery rocks that are dangerous for hurting your feet or falling. This is my seventh trip to the south, my fourth to Mexico, and I've never seen such a terrible beach. The week I was there, there was sargassum seaweed. Personally, I would have braved the piles of sargassum to go in the water, but the problem is that they weren't collecting the old sargassum, and it smelled like a dead cow because they were leaving it to dry in the sun. We couldn't go swimming or even relax there because the smell was too strong. However, if you like swimming pools, this is the place to go—pools everywhere, very large. Slides for children. But overall, I much preferred the Riu Tequila last year, in every way, except for the newly renovated room, which is absolutely stunning. It definitely lacks entertainment and activities.

A beautiful hotel
Un bel hôtel
The Grand Sunset Princess is a very beautiful, very clean, and recently renovated hotel. The staff is very friendly, and the restaurants and buffet are good. The only downside is that the beach isn't very nice; there's too much sargassum seaweed, and the seabed is rocky. But the pools are perfect.
More...

Great trip!
Super voyage!
I loved my stay at the Grand Sunset Princess. Part of the hotel had just been renovated, and the other part was still being renovated, but this didn't negatively impact my stay at all! My room was beautiful and the bed was super comfortable. The buffet was very good and there was a lot of choice. I ate at La Hacienda (8/10), La Vaqueria (4/10), La Volta (10/10), and Miso Teppanyaki (10/10).
