Very nice hotel, excellent service but no beach
Très bel hôtel, excellent service mais pas de plage
We stayed the first week of July. There were only 80 occupied rooms, so we never ran out of towels and had plenty of choice of chairs! The downside was that only two à la carte restaurants were open at a time, and the buffet was closed for dinner most of the time (except for one evening during our entire week). The pros: - Proximity to the airport (about 25 minutes) - The pools (very, very hot even though they're not supposed to be heated!). The rooms (we got a sea view without even asking) are very spacious, clean, and the beds are very comfortable - the air conditioning works great in the room, except you can always hear the fan. Lots of entertainment and music at the main pool, but not too late in the evening to allow us to sleep. Mostly American music. The water slides and splash pads! The kids and parents really loved them! There's something for all ages. Even the little ones in the splash pad had a small water slide. The staff is fantastic and the service is very fast. The downsides: - No beach, and therefore no water sports or activities on site. - There is a small artificial beach, but it is very dangerous for children since there are no barriers to prevent them from falling down the approximately 15-meter drop onto the rocks below. - The food/restaurants. We understand that since there were only 80 rooms occupied during our stay, very few à la carte restaurants were open at the same time, and the buffet was closed for dinner (except one night a week), but the quality was disappointing... Overcooked fish, dry meat. I've always eaten very well in Mexico, and I expected much better... I've eaten much better in Cuba! As for the breakfast buffet, you have to ask the server for bacon if you want it, and they will gladly bring it to you. They seem to be rationing it? The buffet at lunch and dinner was very good, but we always arrived right when it opened, which is what I suggest. - They celebrated the 4th of July in a big way, but absolutely nothing for Canada Day, even though the majority of tourists there were clearly Canadians (Ontario and Quebec). We noticed this during the American national anthem... We figured that since the Hyatt chain, which owns Dreams, is an American company, they go all out for their own holidays? - BEWARE OF REPEATED INVITATIONS TO ENCOURAGE YOU TO SPEND THE DAY AT THEIR OTHER HOTEL!!! Don't fall for this trap! They take you to a hotel 20 minutes away but force you to listen to more than two hours of sales pressure for a Hyatt hotel chain membership, and you can't leave because you depend on them to get back to Dreams Puerto Morales. In summary, we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, but we felt it wasn't worth the price we paid, mainly because of the food and the lack of a beach.
Nous avons séjourné la première semaine de juillet. Il n'y avait que 80 chambres occupées alors on n'a jamais manqué de serviettes et nous avions le choix pour les chaises! Le mauvais côté est que seulement 2 restaurants à la carte étaient ouverts à la fois et le buffet était fermé pour le souper la majorité du temps (sauf un soir durant toute notre semaine).

-les piscines (très très chaudes même si elles ne sont apparemment pas chauffées!). Les chambres (nous avons eu la vue sur la mer sans avoir à le demander) sont très spacieuses, propres et les lits sont très confortables - l'air climatisé fonctionne super bien dans la chambre sauf qu'on entend toujours le bruit de la fan. Beaucoup d'animation et de musique à la piscine principale mais pas trop tard le soir pour nous permettre de dormir. Musique plutôt américaine. Les glissades d'eau et jeux d'eau! Les enfants et les parents ont vraiment aimé ca! Il y en a pour tous les âges. Même les tout petits dans les jeux d'eau avaient droit à une petite glissade d'eau
Le personnel est formidable et le service est très rapide
Les négatifs:
- Pas de plage et donc pas d'équipements ou d'activités nautiques sur place - Il y a une petite plage artificielle mais elle est très dangereuse pour les enfants étant donné qu'il n'y a aucune barrière pour empêcher de tomber en bas du précipice d'environ 15m donnant sur des rochers en bas.
- La nourriture/restaurants. On comprends que vue qu'il n'y avait que 80 chambres occupées lors de notre séjour, très peu de restaurants à la carte étaient ouverts en même temps et le buffet était fermé pour le souper (excepté un soir par semaine) mais la qualité n'était pas au rendez-vous...Poisson trop cuit, viande sèche. J'ai toujours super bien mangé au Mexique et je m'attendais à beaucoup mieux... J'ai beaucoup mieux mangé à Cuba! Pour ce qui est du buffet au petit-déjeuner, il faut demander au serveur du bacon si vous en voulez et ils vous en apporterons avec plaisir. Ils semblent le rationner? Pour le buffet au déjeuner et diner c'était très bon mais on arrivait toujours à l'ouverture, ce que je suggère.
- Ils ont fêté en grand le "4th of July" mais absolument rien pour la fête du Canada malgré que la majorité des touristes sur place étaient de toute évidence des Canadiens (Ontario et Québec) On a pu le constater lors de l'hymne national américain...On s'est dit que vue que la chaine Hyatt qui est propriétaire de Dreams est une compagnie américaine ils y mettent le paquet lorsqu'il s'agit de leur fête?
- ATTENTION AUX INVITATIONS À RÉPÉTISSION POUR VOUS INCITER À PASSER LA JOURNÉE DANS LEUR AUTRE HOTEL!!! Ne tombez pas dans ce piège! Ils vous amène dans un hôtel à 20 minutes de celui-ci mais vous oblige à écouter plus de 2 heures de pression de vente pour un membership pour la chaine d'hôtels Hyatt et vous ne pouvez pas sortir de là car vous dépendez d'eux pour retourner au Dreams Puerto Morales.
En résumé, on a beaucoup aimé notre séjour à cet hôtel mais on a trouvé que ca ne valait pas le prix qu'on a payé surtout à cause de la nourriture et de l'absence de plage
