The Iberostar Playa Alameda, an adults-only (16+) hotel on Varadero's famous white sand beach, offers all the amenities needed for a relaxing getaway in Cuba.
Guests particularly appreciate the friendliness of the staff and the excellent service. The overall cleanliness of the hotel and rooms is consistently highlighted, as is the beauty and upkeep of the beach. The grounds are also considered attractive and well-maintained, with pleasant vegetation. The food is often perceived as varied and of good quality, especially at the buffet. However, it is sometimes mentioned that the food can be repetitive or served cold. Occasionally, comments mention aging rooms in need of renovation, with issues of dampness or unpleasant odors.

We had a very pleasant stay and lacked nothing, except for the slightly disappointing beach.
Nothing but good things!!
Que du bien !!

A warm welcome; they do what they can with what they have.
It depends on your expectations; if you have them, I wouldn't recommend it; if you don't, you'll enjoy your vacation. Beautiful beach, though a bit rough, friendly and welcoming staff, but the food: even though they say Cuba is Cuba, after a dozen vacations in this country, we've never seen such a limited variety (you can see that supplies are very limited, which is why I wrote, they're doing what they can with what they have right now).

A trip to Cuba to a resort for adults who just want to relax
I'm well aware of the cliché that you don't travel to Cuba for the food, but during my stay, it reached a whole new level. Finding a dish that was both varied and actually edible at the buffet was a real challenge. The activities offered were diverse, but quickly became repetitive. The staff, while very friendly, often insisted on tips. As for cocktails, it was 50/50: it all depended on the bartender or barista. You either got an excellent drink or a complete disaster, half alcohol and half juice. The room, for its part, was very clean, although I did have a visit from two or three rather gargantuan cockroaches. In short, it's not a bad resort for a short stay, but after two or three days, you quickly got tired of it.

SUN
SOLEIL
This hotel probably had its heyday about fifteen years ago!!! Looks beautiful but very old. It seems that when something stops working, they let it go instead of fixing it. Empty fountains, paint needs to be redone everywhere. Very old rooms, plumbing needs to be redone, showers need to be redone. On the other hand, the worst rating goes to the cleanliness of the rooms; you can give a good tip, they only make the bed and give towels. They don't have any cleaning trolleys. On the other hand, the staff is generally very pleasant and motivated. I consider it a 3*. If you can, I recommend the Mélia Las Americas where I have already stayed and it is still very beautiful.
