The hotel was very clean, the room was spotless, the only downside was that the hot dishes at the buffet were always lukewarm or even cold.

Beautiful hotel, very welcoming! Good food, you can eat at the à la carte restaurant every evening! Even if you book your meals at a late hour, you can still arrive earlier for dinner! You can arrive early, but never late for your reserved time.

Même si vous réserver vos restaurants à une heure tardive, vous pouvez tout de même arriver plutôt pour souper! Vous pouvez arriver plutôt mais jamais en retard de l’heure que vous aviez réservé.

Quiet hotel, little entertainment. Generous buffet. Excellent service in the lobby but much less attentive at the buffets. Plenty of chairs on the beach, lots of shade!
Hotel calme, peu d’animation. Buffet généreux. Service super au lobby mais beaucoup moins bienveillant aux buffets. Beaucoup de chaise à la plage, ombre nombreuse!

Good, but disappointing compared to our last visits

What can I say about this trip to the Bahia Principe Luxury Esmeralda? Not a bad experience, but disappointing compared to our recent trips there. First, even though we are "Gold" members, none of our requests were met. The buffet, while decent, was nothing exceptional and had declined compared to our previous visits. As for the beach, the Esmeralda area was overrun with people from the Fantasia and Grand Punta resorts who had no business being there, as it's reserved for Esmeralda guests. The staff didn't seem to care; they preferred to gather around, chat, or talk on their cell phones. Waitresses were even serving alcoholic drinks to people who weren't even guests of the resort. Regarding beach towels, there was a blatant lack of oversight; we didn't get any change for three days, which is unprecedented. The room was clean and the housekeeper was excellent, however, there was no hot water from 8 PM to 8 AM the next day, which was also a first. Despite our repeated requests to the concierge of our building, nothing changed. As for our Air Canada agent, he didn't even show up for the meeting the following day.
Que dire de ce voyage au Bahia Principe Luxury Esméralda. Pas mauvaise expérience mais décevante par rapport a nos récents voyages à cet endroit. Premièrement même si nous sommes des membres « Golden » aucune de nos demandes n’ont été respectées. Le buffet quoique correct n’a rien d’exceptionnel mais s’est dégradé par rapport à nos dernières visites. Au niveau de la plage le site du Esméralda était envahie par des gens du Fantasia et du grand Punta qui n’ont aucunement affaire sur ce site réservé aux gens de l’Esméralda mais le personnel ne s’en occupe pas ils préfèrent se regrouper pour placoter ensemble ou répondre à leur cellulaire. Les serveuses servaient même des boissons alcoolisées à des gens qui n’étaient même pas client du site. Au niveau des serviettes de plage, un manque flagrant de contrôle car 3 jours nous n’avons peu changer nos serviettes nous n’avions jamais connu cela à cet endroit. Au niveau de la chambre, propre et la femme de chambre était extra, par contre pas d’eau chaude de 20 heures à 8 heures le lendemain, ça aussi c’était une première. Malgré nos demandes répétées au concierge de notre bloc rien n’a changé. Pour ce qui était de notre agent « Air Canada » il ne s’est même pas pointé à la réunion du lendemain.
