The Melia Jardines del Rey hotel in Cayo Coco is a new plantation-style resort located directly on the white sand beach of Flamenco Beach, about 15 km from Cayo Coco Airport.
Guests appreciate the warm welcome and service from the staff, as well as the beautiful beach, well-equipped with palapas and lounge chairs. The overall cleanliness of the resort and rooms is frequently mentioned, along with the large swimming pools and spacious, comfortable rooms. The food is considered decent and varied, particularly at the à la carte restaurants. However, the food, especially at the buffet, is sometimes criticized as repetitive or lacking in variety, occasionally leading to unsatisfying expectations.

Well located, close to the airport.
Bien situé, près de l'aéroport.
I ate very well, and I always found something good to drink. I didn't participate in the activities. The staff always went out of their way to meet my requests. Overall, it was very good.

Vacation with friends
Vacance entre amis
What a wonderful week! I don't understand the very negative comments... yes, Cuba is Cuba, you shouldn't expect haute cuisine, but we always managed to find something. The little tuna sandwiches at 24 Hours, the pasta bar, and the fish and meat on the hot plate at the buffet were good. The beach, yes, a bit rocky, but nothing terrible, and the Cuban sand—wow! We never lacked drinking water or water for washing, there was no shortage of electricity, and it was very clean. The staff were very friendly, and they depend on us so much to survive. Thank you!
Quelle belle semaine! Merci

Every man for himself...
Sauve qui peut...
This resort is in dire need of repair; a quarter of it is abandoned... no hot water, lack of bedding/towels. We paid an extra US$180 to change rooms to an oceanview room with hot water. Too many Cubans raid the buffet and bar... and on top of that, they waste half of it, leaving us with only crumbs. The sewers overflowed in the walkway for four days. We complained to the supervisor; I'm still waiting for a response. The beach is gone, washed away by the hurricane this fall... In short, like in the movie: Run, Forrest, run!
