Melia Santiago De Cuba

It is unfortunate that we can not land directly at Santiago airport is 10 minutes away. The package brings us to the airport of Holguín then by minibus (No toilet in the bus ... plan ... it does not stop ...) at the Melia hotel (3 hours drive but c 'was clear in advertising). Here in Santiago, this hotel, we are far from any attraction of Interest; the taxi is a must to visit La Gran Pierra, or the Basilica of El Cobre, or El Morro Fortress; travel becomes more expensive than I had expected. But the people are welcoming. I was waiting for me as in my other trip to an all inclusive ... forget it ... the hotel does not provide this package. So, on balance, there would be benefit for customers, there is more information in the advertised package. Positive: The Cadeca (Bank where you can exchange money) is next door to the hotel. A special congratulations to Mme.YADIRA FORGAS of customer service "Warning al Cliente" which is a person Attentive, caring and super efficient; she was able to answer my questions properly; it is the same for her colleague Mrs. Sonia Fernandez. The hotel is visible from anywhere in the city thanks to its 15 floors ... so you would not lose. The restaurant buffet is very good for all the dishes presented and the staff are welcoming it; but this package did not include drinks (including water). The hotel is remarkably clean, the pool is the envy of many. Security in and around the hotel is very reassuring for such a busy city Santiago. Negative: In the discount travel advertising, it is stated that there are 2 meals per day included, that's true ... but at dinner there as the food is included, no liquid water or coffee tea so forget "vino tinto A" has less reach into your wallet While meals (Although it does not offer you water) are well Buffet, unfortunately I can not say the same for the food that is free ... if you take water, coffee or tea ... you will be responsible ... $ 2.50 CUC which is equivalent to US $ 2.50 although it's still $ 3.50 CAD; I who got 2 bottle of water (because we are told that there is no other kind of water) .... no way to escape, because there are many people who are watching us and taking note everything you eat. The last restaurant I was assigned the day before departure by management (the buffet is closed), was the restaurant "LA FONTANA" the food is good but the staff would do well to hang a smile on his face. .. here too, we must pay any consumption of water and not more. In the House, there was a mini fridge, but nothing in it, if you like water or beer while we must pay. Oh yes ... there is also a coffee maker ... but no coffee ... there is an ice bucket but no ice available on floors (Maybe the restaurant, I have not risked). Il est malheureux que nous ne puissions pas atterrir directement à l'aéroport de Santiago qui est à 10 minutes de l'hôtel. Le forfait nous amène à l'aéroport de Holguín puis par minibus (Pas de toilette dans l'autobus... prévoyez... il ne s'arrête pas...) à l'hôtel Mélia (3 heures de route mais c'était clair dans la publicité). Ici à Santiago, à cet hôtel, nous sommes loin de toute attraction d'Intérêt; le taxi est un must pour aller visiter La Gran Pierra, ou la basilique d'El Cobre ou encore la forteresse d'El Morro; le voyage devient alors plus dispendieux que j'avais pu prévoir. Mais le peuple est accueillant. Je M'attendais comme dans mes autres voyage à un tout inclus... oubliez ça... l'hôtel n'offre pas ce forfait. Donc, tout compte fait, il y aurait avantage pour les clients, qu'il y ait plus de précisions dans le forfait annoncé. Positif : La Cadeca (Banque ou l'on peut échanger de l'argent) est à-côté de l'hôtel. Un bravo spécial à Mme.YADIRA FORGAS du service à la clientèle " Attention al Cliente" qui est une personne Attentive, attentionnée et super efficace; elle a su répondre adéquatement à mes interrogations; il en est de même pour sa collègue Mme. Sonia Fernandez. L'Hôtel est visible de partout dans la ville grâce à ses 15 étages... alors on ne s'y perd pas. Le restaurant le Buffet est très bien pour l'ensemble des plats présenté et le personnel y est accueillant; mais ce forfait n'incluait pas les consommations (incluant l'eau). L'hôtel est d'une propreté remarquable, la piscine fait l'envie de plusieurs. La sécurité dans et aux abords de l'hôtel est très rassurante pour une ville aussi active que Santiago. Négatif : Dans la publicité de voyage à rabais, il est indiqué qu'il y a 2 repas par jours d'inclus, c'est vrai mais au souper il n'y a que la nourriture qui est incluse, aucun liquide, eau café ou thé donc oubliez « Un vino tinto » a moins de mettre la main dans votre portefeuille Bien que les repas (Même si on ne vous offre pas d'eau) sont bien au Buffet, je ne peux malheureusement pas en dire autant pour le que la nourriture qui est gratuite si vous prenez eau, café ou thé il vous sera chargé $2.50 CUC qui est l'équivalent à $2.50 US bien c'est quand même $3.50 CAD; moi qui avait pris 2 bouteille d'eau (Car on nous dit qu'il n'y a pas d'autre sorte d'eau). pas moyen d'y échapper, car il y a plusieurs personnes qui nous surveillent et prennent en note tout ce que vous consommez. Le dernier restaurant qui m'a a été attribué la veille du départ par la direction (le buffet étant fermé), fût le restaurant "LA FONTANA" la nourriture est bonne mais le personnel aurait tout intérêt à s'accrocher un sourire au visage... ici aussi, on doit payer toute consommation et pas plus d'eau. Dans la Chambre, il y avait un frigo mini, mais rien dedans, si on veut eau ou bière il faut tout payer. Ha oui il y a aussi une cafetière mais pas de café il y a un sceau à glace, mais pas de glace disponible aux étages (Peut-être au restaurant, je n'ai pas risqué). Ici avec Caribe sol il n'y a pas de représentant, on doit s'arranger tout seul
