We spent a week in this pleasant hotel from 14 to 21 February. Located 2 hours from the airport, this area is worth to be chosen because you find the place where the majority of trips are, everything is almost the same downtown Ocho Rios which is 5 minutes walk. The complex is large (two 15-storey towers), for a total of 730 rooms. The site is beautiful and very clean and the staff are mostly very nice. We stayed in the South Tower which is apparently better than the north. We requested a king bed and a fridge as Sunwing rooms do not offer. Upon our arrival, we had our king but no fridge and no towel. Over the cleanliness of the bathroom was poor. We returned to reception and they were very nice and settled our problems immediately ... Because it was not in our plan to have a fridge, there was a delay of three days before that they find one available and I had to ask several times ... The room is just okay: - chamber fan nonfunctional bathroom - Shower flowing everywhere - Air Conditioning functional but moisture still present - kettle with tea and coffee - flat screen TV with multiple channels - very comfortable bed These small details we do not stop to appreciate because we went to the room to sleep ... I stay at this hotel without hesitation. Positive: The food is excellent, not a lot of choice at the buffet but everything is very good. I made a video on the lunch buffet on You Tube. You can find by searching the name of the hotel + breakfast buffet. The a la carte restaurant are good especially Asian. We had no problem booking the a la carte restaurant: a meeting and our 4 restaurants were booked for the week. From 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. they serve jerk chicken at Grill of South Terrace, we really loved it, I ate all the afternoon and I would pay to eat here because it was so good. There are many pools and a secluded area with waterfalls, really beautiful. The water slide is fun to do even for adults. There are plenty of chairs available on the beach and around the pools but if you want the best seats with umbrella ... you need to book early in the morning by dropping your towel. Our Sunwing representative (Tresan) was really nice, energetic and funny. Negative: We did not really liked the Italian restaurant in the map, pasta with bolognese sauce were very common, maybe the other dishes are better. There are many people on this site and must often wait in line to be served especially for the grill jerk chicken. But hey, you're on vacation and in no hurry. 2 vortices are not good temperatures, one was too hot (104 F) and the other too cold. it would have taken an in-between. The beaches are nice and clean but not vague. No Jellyfish but we must pay attention to the little white fish with a long beak. 2 people on these markets and fish were injured. The evening shows are common ... 7 nights, only 2 were worth seeing. We would have appreciated a night out for shopping but we were advised not to go into town at night. Sunwing excursions and the hotel are very expensive. We preferred to take a taxi for the day to make it 2-3 activities at our own pace. The jamaîquins are very insistent that you buy for their products in their store, especially at the flea market. Everything must be negotiated at least 50% of the asking price.
