A very nice site for a short stay as the place is small.
Très beau site pour un court séjour car l’endroit est petit.
One small drawback: there are no parasols for the beach chairs. Not many people go there. It's very hot and sunny, so you have to use the chairs on the pool terrace; however, be sure to get up early to reserve one with a parasol… The buffets are repetitive, but the three remaining à la carte options are excellent.

Great stay for the 4th time at the Occidental Nuevo Vallarta. One of the oldest hotels in Nayarit, well maintained and renovated.
Superbe séjour pour la 4e fois à l’Occidental Nuevo Vallarta. Un des plus vieux hôtel de Nayarit bien entretenu et rénové.
Constructive criticism: The buffets are a bit chaotic, staff shortages, and management needs improvement. The food is very good, there's something for everyone, but it's often lukewarm. The seats in the lobby bar need improvement: very uncomfortable, very dirty, and worn, and they've had their day. If the hotel wants to maintain its 4.5-star rating, there are some small improvements that could be made. But we'll definitely be back.

La nourriture est très bonne y a de tout pour tous mais souvent tiède.
Les sièges au lobby bar à améliorer: très inconfortables, très sales, défoncés, ils ont fait leur temps.
Si l’hôtel veut conservé ses 4 étoiles et demi, il y aurait de petites améliorations à faire.
Mais nous y retournerons sûrement.

Very good choice of hotel! The room is very nice, the service is very good! The a la carte restaurants are very good. The buffet, not much choice. Not easy to order a bottle of red wine from the wine list, they are not used to it, so have to run everywhere in the hotel to find some. The beach is very beautiful, without seaweed, but not the color of the Caribbean. We had chosen this region because in June, there is usually seaweed in the Caribbean. I had paid for the Royal Club but not necessary I think. An additional restaurant available, a room a little hotter and a pool and beach section reserved but nothing exciting! I would definitely go back!! But for a similar price, I prefer Cancun…
Très bon choix d’hôtel ! La chambre est très belle, le service est très bien ! Les restos à la carte sont très bien. Le buffet, pas tellement de choix. Pas facile de commander une bouteille de vin rouge sur la carte des vins, ils ne sont pas habitués, donc doivent courir partout dans l’hôtel pour en trouver. La plage est très belle, sans algue, mais pas la couleur des Caraïbes. Nous avions choisi cette région car en juin, il y a habituellement des algues dans les Caraïbes. J’avais payé pour avoir le Royal Club mais pas nécessaire je crois. Un resto supplémentaire de dispo, une chambre un peu plus hot et une section piscine et plage de réservée mais rien d’excitant ! J’y retournerais sûrement !! Mais pour un prix similaire, je préfère Cancún…

Strong points: Very beautiful beach, no seaweed, courteous staff, comfortable and numerous beach chairs, good à la carte restaurants, varied buffet, good cocktails, good transport logistics to the airport with Transat. Weak points: The balconies are not interesting because they are too small and poorly oriented, rooms a little cramped for 3 (2 adults and 1 teenager), umbrellas on the beach would be good when you are looking for shade other than the many palm trees which still provide some. Lots of street vendors on the beach, a little annoying at the end. A beautiful week, the weather was nice! We really enjoyed it! NB: I highly recommend Viking Fishing Charters and Captain Manuel Santana for sea fishing enthusiasts! Great!
Points forts: Très belle plage, aucune algue, personnel courtois, chaises de plage confortables et nombreuses, bons restos à la carte, buffet varié, bons cocktails, bonne logistique de transport à l'aéroport avec Transat.

Less...Points faibles: Les balcons de sont pas intéressants car trop petits et mal orientés, chambres un peu exiguë pour 3 (2 adultes e 1 ado), des parasols à la plage seraient bien quant on cherche de l'ombre autre que les nombreux palmiers qui en donnent quant même. Beaucoup de vendeurs ambulants sur la plage, un peu agaçant à la fin.
Une belle semaine, il a fait beau! On a bien apprécié!
NB: Je recommande fortement Viking Fishing Charters et le capitaine Manuel Santana pour les amateurs de pêche en mer! Super!
