Wonderful trips to Paradisus...we were on the 18 year old side of the Perla! Peaceful and relaxing place for those who love tranquility! We would have liked a little more entertainment at the end of the day! Excellent and refined food in the restaurants we tried! Incredible service everywhere on the site! Positive: A1 service Excellent food and beauty of the complex! Negative: Not the best place for beach lovers and no entertainment on the 18 year old side only Aqua Gym classes!

Beautiful hotel...impeccable service in the hotel and on the beach, smiling and very pleasant staff. Positive: Near the airport (40-45 min. by bus) Possibility to walk to Playa del Carmen. (45 min.) Negative: The sand on the beach is magnificent but not the sea. (Full of seaweed and the sea water is sometimes brown.)

I would not return to this hotel, which was a big disappointment. Positive: Good food. Clean room, comfortable beds. Negative: -There is no beach. If you are buying a trip with the intention of going to the beach, make another choice. The seaweed beds are huge and smelly. In addition, a very large part of the "beach" in front of the hotel is rocky. -Places full of very noisy young Americans. -Very noisy restaurants, because there are a lot of children. Even if you buy a package at La Perla, on the adult side, many restaurants, including the evening buffet, are shared. So not much peace and quiet for couples' dinners. Also check which à la carte restaurants are family-friendly before making your reservations. -It is not advisable to leave the hotel on foot, so you have to take a taxi every time you want to leave the resort. -The staff's level of English is rather poor, so of course, if you only speak French, you will have a hard time communicating there. -If you pay more for a "swim un" room, be prepared for groups of noisy people to constantly invade your space with drinks and loud music.

Négatif : -Il n’y a pas de plage. Si vous achetez un voyage dans le but d’aller à la plage, faites un autre choix. Les bancs d’algues sont énormes et nauséabonds. De plus, une très grande part de la « plage » devant l’hôtel est rocailleuse.
-Endroits remplis de jeunes Américains très bruyants.
-Restaurants très bruyants, car il y a beaucoup d’enfants. Même si vous achetez un forfait à La Perla, le côté adulte, beaucoup de restos, dont le buffet du soir, sont communs. Donc pas beaucoup de calme pour des soupers en couples. Vérifiez aussi quels restaurants à la carte sont familiaux avant de faire vos réservation.
-Il n’est pas conseillé de sortir de l’hotel à pied, il faut donc prendre le taxi à chaque fois qu’on désire sortir du resort.
-Le niveau d’anglais du personnel est plutôt faible, donc bien-sûr, si vous ne parlez que français, vous aurez beaucoup de mal à communiquer là-bas.
-Si vous payez davantage pour avoir une chambre « swim un », soyez prêts à ce que des groupes de gens bruyants envahissent sans cesse votre espace avec boisson et musique à tue-tête.
