The beach was fine, except for the sea… you can't go far without hitting the seaweed. The buffet food was excellent in my opinion. To reserve a table at the à la carte restaurant, you have to do it the same day, and if you don't arrive at least an hour before your reservation time, you won't get a table. The alcohol in the bars is very cheap… the staff is great, and the place is clean. Overall, I enjoyed it for the price I paid. It met my expectations.
Plage ok, sauf pour la mer… on ne peut pas aller loin sans être dans les algues. La nourriture au buffet était excellente de mon point de vue. Pour réserver restaurant à la carte, on doit le faire la journée même et si tu n’y vas pas au moins 1 heure avant l’heure qu’on peut réserver, tu n’auras pas de place. L’alcool dans les bars, c’est de l’alcool très bon marché… le personnel est super, l’endroit est propre. En général j’ai bien aimé pour le prix que j’ai payé. Ca répondait à mes attentes.

Pleasantly surprised

Overall, we were very satisfied with our week. The site is beautiful and very well maintained, the staff were very friendly, and the room was adequate. Not luxurious, but it was clean, the air conditioning worked very well, and we had hot water all week. We also ate well. The major downside was the buses full of locals that arrive for the weekend... luckily, it only lasts two days. I would go back despite that!
Dans l'ensemble, nous avons été très satisfaite de notre semaine , beau site très bien entretenu, personnel très sympathiques , la chambre etait correct. Pas le gros luxe, mais elle etait propre et l'air conditionné fonctionnait très bien et nous avons eu de l'eau chaude toute la semaine ....nous avons bien mangé . Le gros point négatif, c'est les autobus de locaux qui débarquent pour la fin de semaine...heureusement, Ça ne dure que 2 jours. J'y retournerais malgré ça !!!

A very nice place if it weren't for the "Time Sharing" vendor for the hotel opposite ours who displeased us; this type of scam has no place in 2026.
Très belle place si ce n'était du vendeur de "Time Sharing" pour l'hotel d'en face du nôtre qui nous a déplus, ce type d'arnaque n'as plus sa place en 2026.
The room was spacious, bright, and very clean, above average for this type of hotel. The restaurant was clean, offering a wide selection of good food, and the staff was friendly. The pool was well-maintained and large. The only downside was the lack of shade on the beach: not a single palapas, just a few trees, lots of rocks in the water, and a steep drop-off to the seabed—far below what one would expect from a hotel of this caliber. A salesperson offering timeshares for the hotel across the street was a bit much for this location and this kind of scam. We recommend this hotel for those who aren't particularly fond of the ocean.
Chambre vaste, claire très propre, au dessus de la moyenne de ce type d'hotel. Restaurant propre, offrant un grand choix, bonne cuisine, personnel aimable, piscine bien entretenue et vaste, seule ombre au tableau, la plage manque d'ombre, pas un seul palapas, quelques arbres, beaucoup de roches dans l'eau, et descente rapide du fond marin, bien en dessous de ce type d'hotel. Un vendeur de "Time Sharing pour l'hotel d'en face était de trop pour cet endroit et ce type d'arnaque. Nous recommandons cet hotel pour ceux qui n'afectionnent pas particulièrement l'océant.

Two friends recently stayed at this hotel and told me I would like it.

A few months ago, I went to the Dominican Republic for the first time. I stayed in Punta Cana at the Vik Arena hotel, but I didn't enjoy the atmosphere at all. The beach was crowded and small… we were packed in like sardines, and finding a lounge chair was practically impossible. So, I decided to try another region, Puerto Plata, for a short three-night stay. Two friends had recommended this hotel, and they were right! The scenery is magnificent, with lush vegetation and mountains as far as the eye can see. The rooms are fantastic; they're all bungalows, four upstairs and four on the ground floor. Very spacious and clean, they each have a huge balcony. The minibar contained two bottles of water and four soft drinks, and it was replenished every two days. The central air conditioning was effective (I couldn't get it any lower… I like my room nice and cool), and there was a large ceiling fan. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Once in your room, you can't hear any noise from the other rooms. The buffet was excellent; I didn't try the à la carte restaurant. The drinks were also very good, and the service was very friendly. The beach is magnificent! There's plenty of space and sun loungers, and the water was warm and clear… It's not pristine white sand and turquoise water, but I prefer this type of beach. You feel safe there, and it was an excellent short three-night stay. The entertainment is fairly standard, but I did participate in the karaoke night. I would definitely go back.

More... Less...J'ai donc décidé d'essayer une autre région, Puerto Plata, pour un court séjour de trois nuits. Deux de mes amis m'avaient conseillé cet hôtel et ils avaient raison ! Le paysage est magnifique, avec une végétation luxuriante et des montagnes à perte de vue. Les chambres sont fantastiques, ce sont toutes des bungalows, quatre à l'étage et quatre au rez-de-chaussée. Très spacieuses et propres, elles disposent d'un immense balcon. Le minibar contenait deux bouteilles d'eau et quatre boissons non alcoolisées, et il était réapprovisionné tous les deux jours. La climatisation centrale était efficace (je n'ai pas réussi à la régler plus bas… j'aime que ma chambre soit bien fraîche), et il y avait un grand ventilateur de plafond. Les lits et les oreillers étaient confortables.
Une fois dans sa chambre, on n'entend aucun bruit venant des autres chambres. Le buffet était excellent, je n'ai pas testé le restaurant à la carte. Les boissons étaient également très bonnes et le service très sympathique.
La plage est magnifique ! Il y a beaucoup d'espace et de transats, l'eau était chaude et claire… Ce n'est pas du sable blanc immaculé et une eau turquoise, mais je préfère ce type de plage.
On s'y sent en sécurité et ce fut un excellent court séjour de trois nuits.
Les animations sont assez classiques, mais j'ai participé à la soirée karaoké.
J'y retournerai sans hésiter.
