We had a wonderful holiday at Riu despite the high sargassum season. We took advantage of the Riu hotels' access to a wider variety of food at our buffets. The staff were fantastic.

Playacar beach is magnificent and the RIU hotels are splendid. Being able to access other RIU hotels during the day is a bonus and allows for a change of scenery throughout the week.

The room and hotel are very clean. The specialty restaurants (Italian, Asian, Mexican) are quick and pleasant, and no reservations are required. Service is often semi-buffet style but still distinct from the general buffet. The beach is partially shaded with palm trees and well-maintained. The hotel is very quiet.
