At Sandos Playacar you feel great on vacation

Great, beautiful resort but a bit big when you have to walk and go to reception especially… even with the shuttles you sometimes have to wait!

The food at the buffet is excellent and there's plenty of choice. The entertainment and shows are great. The grounds are well-maintained. The beach is beautiful and there are lots of sunbeds. The pool maintenance left something to be desired; the water was much too warm and became cloudy.
La nourriture au buffet est excellente et il y a beaucoup de choix. L’animation et les spectacles sont super. Les lieux sont bien entretenus. La plage est magnifique et il y a beaucoup de chaises. L’entretien des piscines laissait à désirer, l’eau était beaucoup trop chaude et est devenue trouble.

There was a lack of staff upon arrival (a long wait), and they refused to change our room (the room had two double beds, not the one we had purchased). The sea and beaches were covered in seaweed, making swimming impossible, and there were beach fleas: we spent our time at the pool. The pool was warm, but full of leaves and debris. The restaurant had decent food, but the service was lacking (pressure to eat quickly: e.g., they brought the main course before we had finished the appetizer). We fared better with the buffet. In short, this trip will not be the most memorable.
Peu de personnel à l'arrivée (longue attente) et celui-ci refuse de nous changer notre chambre (chambre de deux lits doubles ne correspondant pas à notre achat d'un grand lit); mer et plages noyées d'algues rendant impossible la baignade et puces de plages : séjour passé à la piscine; piscine chaude, mais pleine de feuilles et débris; restaurant nourriture correct, mais service laisse à désirer (pression pour manger rapidement : ex., apporte plat principal avant la fin de terminer l'entrée); on se tire mieux d'affaire avec le buffet. Bref, ce voyage ne sera pas le plus mémorable.

The site is full of vegetation. There are also several wild animals to discover. The rule not to feed them seems to be respected, as they live near tourists without getting too close. If you're lucky, like we were, you might encounter spider monkeys. But we only saw them once. The cleanliness of the grounds and the room is truly surprising. The employees work hard every day, and it shows; the staff is really friendly. The room is very comfortable, but if you're near the "family" pool, it's a bit noisy during the day, though it stops early (5:30-6:00 PM). The buffet and à la carte restaurants are excellent. The beach was nice, very well maintained. The seaweed problem isn't their fault, but on days when there were few waves, swimming was perfect. My only complaint about the site is its size and the lack of clear signage. You already have to walk a lot, but if you get lost, it's even worse. However, it is possible to reserve bicycles or take the shuttle buses that run on the site. I recommend doing so, at least for the day of your arrival.
Le site est rempli de végétaux. Il y a plusieurs animaux sauvages a découvrir également. La consigne de ne pas les nourrir semble etre respecté car ils vivent a proximité des touristes sans les approcher de trop près. Si vous êtes chanceux comme on la ete, vous pourriez rencontrer les singes araignées. Mais on ne les a vue qu une seule fois. La propreté des lieux et de la chambre est vraiment surprenante. Les employés travaillent fort tous les jours et ca paraît, le personnel est vraiment sympathique. La chambre est très confortable mais si vous vous trouvez a proximité de la piscine "familiale", le jour cest un peu bruyant mais ca s'arrête tot (17h30-18h00). Le buffet et les restaurant a la carte sont excellent. La plage etait bien, très bien entretenu. La problématique des algues n'est pas leur faute mais les jours où il y avait peu de vague, la baignade etait parfaite. Mon seul bémol du site cest sa grandeur et le manque de clarté des indications. On doit deja marcher beaucoup mais si on se perd cest pire. Par contre, il est possible de réserver des vélos ou de prendre les navettes qui circulent sur le site. Je vous le conseil au moins pour le jour de votre arrivée.
