Rio Hato Airport is very small, so customs takes a long time. We were the last ones off the plane, and it took an hour to get through. But anyway, the others had to wait for us on the bus to go to the hotel. The bus ride there takes 10 minutes, which makes up for it. We checked in around 3:30 pm, and the room was ready. It says 5 stars on the front of the hotel, but I'd say it's more like a 4-star at best, and that's being a stretch. They give you a wristband for the week, there's no welcome cocktail or cold towel, you carry your own luggage to your room, and you have to provide cards for towels and room keys. There are few elevators, so if you don't want to wait, take the stairs. The rooms are old, but they've been repainted. The beds are comfortable. It's not really a balcony; once the patio door is open, you barely have a foot to step out before the railing. It's very clean, and the staff does a good job, always polite and helpful. The sports bar near the lobby is open 24 hours and they make good lattes, cappuccinos, etc. Otherwise, you have to go to the bar by the largest pool, which is near the beach; it opens at 10:00 AM. The other bar near the buffet only opens at noon. I'm not a big drinker, but the drinks are ordinary, except for the Piña Colada, which is excellent and they put lots of large chunks of real pineapple in the mix. We often had sparkling water with lime. The wine is very ordinary. People don't tip much, but if you do, they'll appreciate it, though it seems like they don't expect it. The bar staff mostly speak Spanish, but they manage in English. English is no problem at reception. The waiters in the dining room struggle in English, but you can get by. The buffet food is very good in my opinion, and many other travelers agree. The menu changes with each meal. A lovely salad and bread bar, plenty of delicious fresh Panamanian fruit, and a wide selection of very good desserts cut into small portions so you can try everything. The ice cream in the evening is excellent, and children can make their own sundaes. Fish is served at every meal, along with pasta, meats, and seafood grilled right in front of you—there's something for everyone, even children. Burgers, hot dogs, and nachos are available near the beach starting at 10:30 am. There are three à la carte restaurants. You have to reserve a table and queue up starting at 10:30 am near the sports bar. The most popular is the Asian restaurant with the live cooking station. If you want a table early, you have to get in line around 9:30 am, which is very disappointing. The Mediterranean restaurant is okay, but nothing special. The tiramisu for dessert is definitely worth it! The BBQ restaurant by the beach isn't worth it; you're better off at the buffet. As for activities, they really like talking into the microphone and playing quite loud music; a little peace and quiet would be nice sometimes. The water slides are great. The beach is beautiful, no seaweed, no rocks, lots of waves, and a big tide, so half the days it was under a red flag and the other half under a yellow flag. There can be small jellyfish in the water too, so we didn't venture out too far. There aren't really any chairs to sit on the beach. You can take long walks on either side of the beach. That's pretty much it, I hope it helps!

Aéroport de Rio Hato, très petit donc la douane prend beaucoup de temps, nous étions les derniers de l’avion et ça a pris 1h en file pour passer. Mais de toute façons les autres devaient nous attendre dans l’autobus pour aller à l’hôtel. 10 minutes d’autobus pour se rendre ce qui compense. Check-in vers 15h30 la chambre était prête. C’est écrit 5 étoiles sur la façade de l’hôtel, mais je dirais au maximum que c’est un 4 étoiles en forçant beaucoup. On vous met un bracelet pour la semaine, pas de cocktail de bienvenue ni serviette froide, vous transporter vos bagages vous même jusqu’à la chambre, cartes pour les serviettes, cartes pour la chambre. Peu d’ascenseurs donc si vous ne voulez pas attendre prenez les escaliers. Les chambres sont vieilles, mais repeintes. Les lits sont confortables. Ce n’est pas vraiment un balcon que vous avez, une fois la porte patio ouverte vous avez à peine 1 pied pour sortir avant la rampe. C’est très propre, le personnel fait du bon travail, toujours poli et serviable. Le sport bar près du lobby en ouvert 24h et ils font des bons cafés lattes, cappuccino etc. Autrement ils faut aller au bar de la plus grosse piscine qui est près de la plage, il ouvre à 10h00. L’autre bar près du buffet ouvre seulement à midi. Je ne suis pas un grand buveur, mais les drinks sont ordinaires, sauf le Pina colada qui est excellent et ils mettent beaucoup de gros morceaux de vrai ananas dans le mélange. On prenait souvent de l’eau pétillante avec de la lime. Le vin est très ordinaire. Les gens ne donne pas beaucoup de tip, mais si vous en donnez il seront reconnaissant, mais on dirait qu’il ne s’y en attende pas d’en avoir. Le personnel des bars parlent surtout espagnol, mais se débrouille en anglais. À la réception en anglais pas de problème. Les serveurs de la salle à manger c’est difficile en anglais, mais on se débrouille. La nourriture du buffet est très bonne à mon goût ainsi que plusieurs commentaires des autres voyageurs. Le menu change à chaque repas. Beau bar à salade et à pain, beaucoup de bons fruits frais du Panama, beaucoup de choix de desserts très bon et coupé en petites portions donc vous pouvez goûter à tout. Crème glacée le soir excellente et les enfants peuvent se faire des sundaes. Du poisson à chaque repas, des pâtes, des viandes et fruits de mer grillées devant vous, il y a de quoi bien manger pour tout le monde et même les enfants. Burger, hot-dog et Nachos près de la plage à partir de 10h30 le matin. Resto à la carte il y en a 3. Il faut réserver en file à partir de 10h30 le matin près du sport bar. Le plus populaire est l’asiatique avec la table de cuisson devant vous. Si vous voulez une place dans les 1ers il faut se mettre en ligne presque vers 9h30 ce qui est très décevant. Le restaurant Méditerranéen est correct mais sans plus. Le tiramisu pour dessert vaut vraiment la peine! Le restaurant bbq sur le bord de la plage ne vaut pas la peine, vous êtes mieux au buffet. Niveau activité ils aiment beaucoup parler au micro et mettrent de la musique assez forte, un peu de tranquillité ferait du bien parfois. Les glissades d’eau sont super. La plage est belle, pas d’algues, pas de roche, beaucoup de vague, grosse variation de la marée, donc moitié des journées c’était drapeau rouge et l’autre moitié drapeau jaune. Il peut y avoir des petites méduses dans l’eau aussi, on ne s’est pas trop aventuré dans la mer. Pas vraiment de chaises pour s’asseoir à la plage. Vous pouvez faire de longues balades de chaque côté de la plage. Voilà ça fait le tour pas mal, j’espère que ça vous aidera!

NEGATIVE The resort is small, and the entertainment is extremely noisy, so you can hear it everywhere, whether you want to or not. POSITIVE Everything else! Great buffet, helpful and smiling staff, lovely room. Everything is perfect, except for the volume of the entertainment.

NÉGATIF Le site est petit, et l'animation est extrêmement bruyante donc on l'entend partout, qu'on le veuille ou non.

Ideal for family trips. A 20-minute bus ride from the airport and several pools and slides for children. The food is good and varied, and the site is very clean and safe. The beach is beautiful, but there are no umbrellas available.
