Located approximately 20 minutes from the airport and very close to the center of Philipsburg (the Dutch side of the island of Saint Maarten), the adults-only Sonesta Great Bay resort is ideal for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. It boasts a beautiful white sand beach stretching for several kilometers, a magnificent infinity pool overlooking the sea, a luxury spa, a casino—in short, everything you need for an unforgettable holiday. With its smiling, polite, and courteous staff, as well as its excellent and varied cuisine (buffet and à la carte restaurants), the Sonesta Great Bay truly offers the very best. Note that you get access to two hotels for the price of one: you can also stay at the Sonesta Maho Beach, a hotel in the same chain located very close to the airport, where you can watch planes landing and taking off directly from the beach.

An all inclusive in St-Martin it is really worth because restaurant meals are expensive. Sonesta Great Bay Beach Resort is a relaxing place that I recommend. Positive: The golden sandy beach although the sea, it falls hollow very quickly, diversified food, the availability of chairs and umbrellas on the beach at any time without reservation, the staff very welcoming, working and smiling, Negative: There is no theater but musicians more or less talented to 20h. Slow service at the beach restaurant (pizza, sandwich and grilled over hot stones in the evening). But mostly Nexus for which we do not have the service which was expected. First, under the guidance of the flight attendant from the plane Sunwing, we bought the tour The Hidden Secrets of the Caribbean at a cost of $ 435 CAD for 3 adults. The agent claimed they were paid in CAD what we would pay in US there so a saving of 30%. On site, it was found that the cost was 342 & US and non-US $ 435 as promised. Then the officer Nexus has placed us on the tour Coconut Reef by saying that the other no longer existed and that it was the same activities. In fact, our tour was 6 hrs and not 7 pm as purchased, we were in a small boat for 6 people and as there was a lot of wind, the front of the boat sharply fell between vague as to hurt us the back. The boat had no shelter and were completely drenched in a cold rain. We have not been able to dive with turtles because of the temperature and contrary to what you bought, dinner was taken in a restaurant instead of a desert island. It was a great ride at high speed boat and two short diving in murky water with shoddy equipment (leaky masks). At least if the conditions were not favorable, we would have had to postpone the tour to another date. Finally I consider that has not got value for money. I suggest waiting on hand to book trips to the village, not by Nexus.
