I would have liked to have a fridge, a single large bed (Queen or King) instead of two small double beds and also a small loveseat to sit on in the room or to put suitcases on instead of being on the floor or on the corner of the bed.

Hotel right in the middle of the city of Mazatlan, on one side the strip with several restaurants, bars and clubs, and on the other side the beach. Super nice to be able to leave the hotel and go for a walk and explore the city. Very nice area, very safe to walk around both day and night. We had the chance to try several restaurants nearby and they were all very good. Regarding the proximity to the bars and clubs, the music plays very loudly until the wee hours of the morning, 3-4 AM. The food at the buffet was ordinary, nothing really typically Mexican and there was not much choice, but not being difficult I always found what I wanted. We only had access to the buffet of the hotel next to us, the buffet at the Star Palace was closed (except for a few exceptions where there were too many people) so the whole resort gathered at the same buffet, we often had to wait in line to get there. We had an à la carte restaurant only at our hotel, a sushi restaurant, very good but we were only allowed one choice of sushi roll per person. We were the only Quebecers in the hotel. Tourist beach therefore accessible to all, which means there are a lot of people and noise during the day, not to mention the mariachis who play loud music non-stop and the multiple vendors who try to sell 1001 things (although not too annoying once we indicated our disinterest). It's very exotic, but you get used to it quickly. Beautiful beach with kilometers of walking, the water icy but refreshing in the hot weather. In short, not a very quiet place, a lot of noise, a lot of Mexicans, but it's a change from other resorts where the city is not accessible. A good little culture shock.
