Sun Palace

People with a Diamond bracelet take up a lot of space! The staff are very attentive to them! For the rest of us, we have to make room.

Beautiful look, the hotel smells good, the buffets are excquis and not bored in the food choices. Positive: The staff, service, cleanliness are breathtaking! Negative: More varied activities would be an area for improvement.

Beau look, l'hotel sent bon, les buffets sont excquis et on ne s'ennuie pas dans le choix de nourriture. Positif : Le personnel, le service, la propreté sont à couper le souffle! Négatif : Des activités plus variées seraient un point à améliorer.

Positive: Everything was perfect! We pay $ 1650 per person and we had $ 1,500 of credit allowed us to do special activities, have two massages, drinking good wines almost all free!! (The 11% taxes they paid) then have to pay about $ 35 to see the Mayan! The food was completely brilliant (even the buffet) and a la carte dining for free! In talking with others who have been in other jurisdictions (oasis and great sense .....) we realize how the sun palace was really great compared other specially at the food! People of 5 stars "white resort" came to eat at our Italian restaurant! I think all the rooms are spa on the balcony or in the rooms. It even has a dry sauna and steam room with free access!! The chairs on the beach are really comfortable and the best other springs nearby. The beach is super nice, I do not see why the critics said that respect fallais to bring water shoes. The service is excellent and the people smiling! Everything was perfect! Even toilet paper smelled good! Haha! Negative: Cancún is a bit disappointing to see. Sellers are too aggressants ...

Positif : Tout était parfait! Nous avons payer 1650$ par personne et nous avions 1500$ de crédit qui nous permettait de faire des activités spéciales, avoir deux massages, boire des bons vins le tout presque gratuitement!!!!( on payait les taxes de 11%) alors ont a payer environ 35$ pour voir les maya!!! La bouffe était completement géniale (meme le buffet) et ont a manger a la carte gratuitement! En parlant avec les autres qui ont été dans d'autres ressorts( oasis sens et great .....) on a réaliser comment le sun palace était vraiment géniale comparativement les autres spécialement au niveau de la bouffe! Les gens du 5 etoiles "le blanc resort" venaient manger a notre resto italien!!Je crois que tout les chambres on un spa sur le balcon ou dans les chambres. Il a même un sauna sec et hammam avec l'accès gratuit!!!!! Les chaises sur la plage sont hyper confortables et les meilleures des autres ressorts d'à côté. La plage est super belle, je vois pas pourquoi les au respect critiques disait qu'il fallais d'apporter des soulier d'eau. Le services est excellents et les gens souriants! Tout était parfait! Même le papier de toilette sentait bon!!! Haha!!! Négatif : Cancún est un peu décevant a voir. Les vendeurs sont trop aggressants...

Positive: I just returned from a dream week at the Sun Palace in Cancun. Purchased from VAR and traveled with Sunwing, departing from Ottawa for $1,263/person. I love shopping for trips and have taken several. When I shopped for this trip, I got an excellent price. For the same date and same room, Air Canada was selling it for almost $1,000 more per person! I had always been attracted to the Resort Palaces, but the prices were most of the time over $2,000. The reviews on the trip were unanimous, it was supposedly paradise!! It is ranked 3rd among Cancun hotels. I was not disappointed!! Reception: We took a taxi so as not to wait for the bus. As we got out of the taxi, two guys greeted us and one of them gave me a flower. They directed us to the lobby. We were the only ones there. We were each served a glass of excellent champagne (sparkling!!). We're nice, ask if we're okay and how the flight went! We ask about the superior rooms. We've already paid an extra $1,000 for a mega presidential suite, so we ask around. $700/night for a presidential suite, uh, forget it!! But we're offered a junior suite, ocean front instead of the basic room. We're told our room is ocean view, 6th floor, big balcony but smaller room. The junior suite is on the 3rd floor, bigger room and smaller balcony. We hesitate and they offer to come and show us both!!! We chose the junior suite, we could see the sea from everywhere!! The service is really their big strength. We feel like king and queen. They recognize us, anticipate our requests, remember what we're drinking, change our glasses before the last sip, etc.!! The site is clean, impeccable. A quiet pool and a more lively pool. No need to get up early, there are always places left. The entertainment is just enough. I don't like to participate, but I like to watch. I didn't see any shows, so I can't comment. Food: I was a little disappointed with the breakfast and lunch buffet. Not a lot of choice and often the same things. On the other hand, everything was excellent and very fresh. The BBQ outside in the evening is fantastic. The Italian restaurant is more than excellent. We don't reserve to go out to eat. We are entitled to all the other Palaces. We did the Cancun Palace and the Beach Palace. The sky bar at the Beach is stupid; 13th floor, view of all of Cancun, 2 pools, 2 bars and 2 jacuzzis. The Asian restaurant at the Cancun Palace is stupid (we just ate sushi freshly made in front of us!) We went to the bar and ordered sushi, yum!! The 24-hour room service is really good. Everything is excellent. We had cappuccinos delivered in the morning and a plate of fruit. We also sometimes had a small appetizer while getting ready in the evening. The hottest thing, the day we left was the day before my party. My boyfriend asked the desk to have someone write in the sand `,HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLAU``. We had seen photos of that kind on the trip. The last morning, basically in front of our balcony on the beach, they had written it!!! Each letter is about 5 feet long!!! Wow!!! We have a long list of included excursions (free!!) Visit to Coba, visit to Chichen Itza, Wet and Wild, day on a boat to Isla Mujeres, and many other things that I forgot!! Negative: The negatives: Very quiet hotel, no parties there. No other couples spoke French! Older and more snobbish people. On the other hand, we don't hate it. We are there to trip together and not to make friends. The pools could be a little more attractive. Poorly soundproofed hotel, hard to sleep in the morning or take a nap. At night, very quiet because everyone goes to bed early!!!

Positif : Je reviens d`une semaine de rêve au Sun Palace de Cancun.

J`adore magasiner les voyages et j`en ai fait plusieurs.
Lorsque j`ai magasiné ce voyage, j`ai eu un excellent prix.
Pour la meme date et même chambre, Air Canada le vendait
presque 1000$ de plus par personne! J`avais toujours été
attiré par les Resort Palace, mais les prix étaient la
plupart du temps, plus de 2000$. Les commentaires sur le
trip étaient unanime, c`était supposément le paradis!!
Il est classé 3e des hotels de Cancun. Je n`ai pas été
déçu!!

Acceuil: On a pris un taxi pour ne pas attendre l`autobus.
En sortant du taxi, 2 gars nous recoivent et un d`eux me
donne une fleur. Ils nous dirige vers le lobby. On est les
seuls. On nous sert chacun un verre de champagne (mousseux!!)
excellent. On est gentil, demande si n va bien et comment le
vol a été! On demande des infos sur les chambres supérieurs.
On a déjà payé un supplément de 1000$ pour une méga suite
présidentielles, donc on s`informe. 700$/nuit pour une suite
présidentielles, heuuu, on oublie ça!! Mais on nous offre une
suite junior, ocean front au lieu de la chambre de base. On
nous explique que notre chambre est ocean view, 6e, gros balcon
mais chambre plus petite. La suite junior est au 3e, chambre
plus grande et balcon plus petit. On hésite et ils nous offrent
de venir nous faire visiter les deux!!! On a choisie la suite
junior, on voyait la mer de partout!!

Le service est vraiment leur grosse force. On se sent comme roi
et reine. Ils nous reconnaissent, viennent au devant de nos
demandes, se souviennent de ce qu`on boit, change nos verres
avant la dernière gorgé, etc!!

Le site est propre, impécable. Une piscine tranquille et une
piscine plus animé. Pas besoin de se lever tôt, ils restent
toujours des places. L`animation est juste assez. Je n`aime
pas paticiper, mais j`aime bien regarder. Je n`ai vue aucun
show, donc j`peux pas commenter.

Bouffe: J`ai été un peu déçu du buffet du matin et midi. Pas
énormément de choix et souvent les mêmes choses. Par contre
tout était excellent et très frais. Le bbq le soir dehors est
fantastique. Les resto italien est plus qu`excellent. On ne
réserve pas pour aller manger. On a le droit à tous les autres
Palace. On a fait le Cancun Palace et le Beach Palace. Le sky
bar du Beach est débile; 13e étage, vue sur tous Cancun, 2
piscines, 2 bars et 2 jaccuzi. Le resto asiatique du Cancun
Palace est débile (on a juste mangé des sushi fraichement fait
devant nous!) On allait au bar et commandait des sushi, miam!!
Le service aux chambres 24h est vraiment bien. Tout est
excellent. On se faisait livrer des cappuccinos le matin
et une assiette de fruit. On a aussi des fois pris une
petite entrée en se préparant le soir.

Le plus hot, la journée de notre départ était la veille de
ma fête. Mon chum a demandé au desk que quelqu`un écrit
dans le sable `,BONNE FÊTE CLAU``. On avait vue des photos
du genre sur le trip. Le dernier matin, en gros devant notre
balcon sur la plage, s`était écrit!!! Chaque lettre mesure
environ 5 pieds!!! Wow!!!

On a une longue liste d`excusion incluses (gratuites!!) Visite de Coba, visite de Chichen itza, Wet and wild, journée en bateau à Isla Mujeres, et pleins d`autres choses que j`ai oublié!! Négatif : Les moins: Hotel très tranquille, aucun party là. Aucun autre
couple parlait français! Gens plus vieux et plus snob. Par
contre, on ne déteste pas ça. On est là pour tripper tous
les deux et pas pour se faire des amis. Les piscines pourraient
être un peu plus attrayantes. Hotel mal insonorisé, dure de
dormir le matin ou de faire la sieste. La nuit, très tranquille
car tout le monde se couche tôt!!!
