Viva Fortuna Beach By Wyndham

Arriving at the Viva Windham Fortuna at 10:00 AM, the room wasn't ready; we had to wait five hours for it to be ready. Inside the room, the drawers in the wardrobes were rusty, and the balcony door was very difficult to open and also rusty. However, the bed linens and bathroom were finished, but the sheets were clean, and the housekeeping was good. The beach was wide but full of seaweed and sand-colored rocks. The sea was very rocky, so you needed water shoes all the time. The two employees, Andrea and Hobie, at the water sports center were very welcoming and efficient. The pool water was disgusting; the color was a greenish-brown, unsuitable for swimming, and dirty. The bars and bartenders were efficient, especially Jameco, who worked at the bar next to the buffet. The buffet was good, and all the employees working there were always smiling, welcoming, and efficient, from the manager to the cooks and waitresses. The entertainment was also good, especially the Portuguese singer who performed in the evening before the show. The receptionists are also good and always in a good mood. In general, all the employees are good, but the entire resort needs renovation, and the beach and pool need cleaning of seaweed and rocks. It's the Bahamians who make all the difference. It's a shame the resort is so neglected.

Arrivé au Viva Windham Fortuna à 10.00h du matin la chambre n’était pas prête il fallait attendre 5 heures pour qu’elle soit prête.
Dans la chambre les tiroirs dans les armoires étaient rouillés et la porte du balcon était très dure à ouvrir et aussi rouillée mais les draps la chambre de bain est finie mais les draps étaient propres et le ménage était bon.
La plage était large mais pleine d’algues et de rochers couleur sable. La mer était très rocheuse ça prend tout le temps des souliers.
Les deux employés, Andrea et Hobie au centre nautique sont très accueillants et efficaces
La piscine l’eau est dégueulasse la couleur est verte marron pas baignable et sale.
Les bars et les bartenders sont efficaces surtout Jameco qui travaille dans la bar à côté du buffet.
Le buffet était bien et tout les employés qui travaillent à l’intérieur sont toujours souriants accueillant et efficaces de la gérante aux cuisinières et les serveuses.
L’animation était bonne aussi surtout la chanteuse portugaise qui chantait le soir avant le spectacle.
Les réceptionnistes aussi sont bonnes et toujours de bonne humeur.
En général tout les employés sont bons mais tout le resort a besoin d’être rénové et la plage nettoyée des algues et des roches ainsi que la piscine .
C’est les bahamiens qui font toute la différence. C’est dommage que le resort soit tellement délaissé.

The hotel is generally good but needs some TLC. My flight arrived early, so there was a long queue the first time to get the wristband, and then I had to queue again at 3 pm to get the room key. The beach towel exchange system is ridiculous. You have to bring in your dirty towel before 6 pm, at which point they give you a card, and then you have to return the next morning from 9 am onwards to get a clean one (if there are any left; otherwise, you have to come back later and spend the whole day without a towel). The beach has plenty of nice chairs and palm trees with beautiful white sand, but the seabed is very rocky. There's only one small, crowded pool with slightly murky water (never crystal clear). A second, adults-only pool would be much appreciated, as there are many families with young children. The food was very good and decent for a 3-star hotel. Unfortunately, in the bedroom, the metal frames of both beds were very rusty, and one of the bed frames was completely broken and hanging by a thread. It also seemed to me that the beds hadn't been swept in a very long time. For the last night, I removed my own protective pillowcases (which I always bring when I travel), and when I returned the next day, I discovered several clusters of bites on the back of my neck, shoulders, and arms. After some investigation, I suspect bedbugs. At least the weather was perfect, with no rain, but with strong winds every day that made the sea murky and brought some sargassum seaweed to the beach (which was collected about every three days). Would I go back? Unfortunately, probably not.

Hôtel généralement bien mais qui nécessite un peu d'amour. Vol arrivée tôt, alors longue file d'attente une première fois pour avoir le ''bracelet'' et il faut retourner faire la file une 2e fois à 15h pour avoir la clé de la chambre. Le système d'échange de serviette de plage est ridicule. Il faut apporter la serviette sale avant 18h où on nous remet une ''carte'' et il faut retourner le lendemain matin à partir de 9h pour recevoir une serviette propre (''SI'' il en reste, sinon, il faut retourner un peu plus tard où on passe la journée sans serviette)... Plage avec amplement de belles chaises et de beaux palmiers avec un très beau sable blanc mais fond de l'eau très rocheux. Une seule piscine pas très grande et bondée de monde avec une eau un peu brouillée (jamais cristal-clair). Une deuxième piscine pour adultes seulement serait très appréciée car beaucoup de familles avec jeunes enfants. La nourriture était très bien et bonne pour un 3 étoiles. Malheureusement, côté 'chambre', les bases en métal des deux lits étaient très rouillées et la base d'un des deux lits était carrément cassée et ne tenait qu'à un fil... Il m'a semblé aussi que le balai n'avait pas été passé sous les lits depuis très longtemps. Pour la dernière nuit, j'ai enlevé mes propres taies d'oreiller protecteurs (que j'apporte toujours en voyage) et à mon retour de voyage, le lendemain, j'ai découvert quelques morsures en grappes sur ma nuque, mes épaules et mes bras et après investigation, je soupçonne des ''punaises de lit''. Au moins, la météo a été parfaite sans aucune pluie mais avec des vents soutenus à tous les jours rendant l'eau de la mer brouillée et apportant quelques algues sargasses sur la plage (qui étaient ramassées à tous les 3 jours environ). Y retournerais-je? Malheureusement, probablement pas.

The hotel grounds are quite small and there aren't many restaurants on site, so we quickly got bored. The atmosphere is quite peaceful, and it's easy to get around town outside the hotel by bicycle, which are provided free of charge. However, it's worth noting that there are few activities, and those that are offered are repetitive and the same every day. The evening shows are magnificent and well-done, and each day of the week is different, but it's more of a place for relaxing than for being active. Very relaxing.

Le site de l’hôtel est assez petit et les restaurants sur le site sont peu nombreux donc ce fut vite fait le tour. L’ambiance est assez tranquille et facile de se déplacer dans la ville à l’extérieur de l’hôtel par vélo qui sont gratuits par l’hôtel. Par contre il faut savoir qu’il y a peu d’activités et ceux qui y sont, sont répétitifs et les mêmes chaque jour. Les spectacles de soirées sont magnifiques et bien fait et chaque jour de la semaine est différents par contre c’est un endroit un peu plus pour relaxer que de bouger. Très relaxant.

Beautiful pool, lovely beach, but lots of rocks when entering the water. Otherwise, the hotel is still good, though old and not renovated. Overall, everything is fine and you won't lack anything. Small but varied buffet, a small snack bar by the water, and a main bar in the lobby next to the pool. Room for the whole family and for couples.

Belle piscine, belle plage mais bcp de roche en rentrant dans l'eau et sinon hotel quand meme bien mais vieux et pas rénové, en general tput est bien et on manquaid de rien, petit buffet mais diversifié et 1 petit snack bar sur le bord de l'eau et bar principale au lobby a coté de la piscine.Place pour tout la famille et pour couples
