Upon arrival at Lisbon Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your local guide. You will then head to the historic Belém district to admire, from the outside, the iconic Belém Tower, the magnificent Jerónimos Monastery, a masterpiece of Manueline architecture, and the Monument to the Discoveries, built in tribute to Portugal’s great explorers. Return to Lisbon for a guided walking tour through the historic heart of the city, rebuilt after the devastating 1755 earthquake, including Restauradores Square, Rossio Square, Commerce Square overlooking the Tagus River, and the Alfama district, Lisbon’s oldest neighborhood with its narrow streets and scenic viewpoints.

Visit Nazaré, a traditional fishing village whose name is linked to a statue of the Virgin brought from Nazareth. Visit Coimbra, a medieval city home to Portugal’s most prestigious university. Enjoy a traditional fado performance, followed by free time. Continue to Aveiro, known as the “Venice of Portugal” for its canals and colorful boats. Arrival in Porto and overnight at the hotel (3 nights).

Excursion to Guimarães, the cradle of Portugal, including a visit to the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza (entrance included). Continue to Braga to discover the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus, a major religious landmark offering impressive views.
Departure toward Amarante, home to the Monastery of São Gonçalo. Continue through the Douro Valley, famous for its terraced vineyards producing Port wine. Lunch at a 19th-century wine-producing manor, Quinta de Castelinho. Overnight in Viseu.

Walking tour of Lagos’ historic center, including the statue of King Sebastian and the site of Europe’s first slave market (entrance not included). Free time for lunch.
