Do you have questions about the measures in place to follow for travel outside of Canada? The Government of Canada website is the best source of information.

  • As of October 30, all air passengers departing from Canadian airports (domestic, transborder or international flights) must be fully vaccinated.

- Exemptions from testing and quarantine requirements

- Screening for entry into Canada by plane

- Mandatory quarantine or isolation

- Vaccinated travellers entering Canada

- Use ArriveCAN to enter Canada

- Checklist for entering Canada by air

- Crossing the border or transiting through Canada

- COVID-19: Your safety outside of Canada

Since July 5, 2021 , certain exemptions are in effect for eligible fully vaccinated travellers.

Travelers who meet the requirements may be exempt:

- of the quarantine;

- mandatory hotel stay (for air travelers);

- of the test on the eighth day.

The requirement to spend three nights in a hotel ends for all passengers whose arrival by air is scheduled after August 9 at midnight and one minute (ET).

For more information or updates, we suggest you regularly check the Government of Canada website.

Screening requirements before arrival in Canada

All travellers over the age of 5, regardless of citizenship, must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test. If you are entering Canada by air, you must be tested within 72 hours of your scheduled departure time. Airlines will deny boarding to travellers who are unable to provide a valid PCR test result.

If this test comes back positive, you will not be able to take your return flight. You will have to remain in the country you visited at your own expense and book another flight back to Canada. For assistance, you can contact the Public Health Agency of Canada at 1-833-784-4397.

It's important to know that not all hotels offer on-site COVID-19 testing. The required test is not included in the package price. Transat Holidays has compiled a list of hotels offering COVID-19 testing services. It is available at this link: https://bit.ly/3estpjr. Please note that availability and prices are subject to change without notice.

Use ArrivecAN to enter Canada

For your return to Canada, you will be required to use the ArriveCAN app to submit mandatory travel information. You must use ArriveCAN to enter information such as your proof of vaccination, contact details, and travel and quarantine information. You must enter this information within 72 hours of your arrival in Canada. You can download the app from the App Store or Google Play, or create an online account at: https://arrivecan.cbsa-asfc.cloud-nuage.canada.ca/confidentialit%C3%A9

Screening upon arrival

Upon your return to the country, you may be required to undergo a screening test before leaving the airport. To expedite your testing process at the airport, we encourage you to register in advance: Montreal – Biron Health Group

_______

To limit the spread of COVID-19, governments worldwide have implemented various travel restrictions. These restrictions can be imposed or changed with little notice. Some countries may require you to provide a completed form and the results of a COVID-19 PCR test before departure. Testing may also become mandatory while you are at your destination, and you may be required to quarantine at your destination in a designated facility or upon your return. Before each trip, ensure you are aware of the latest travel requirements and restrictions applicable to your stay by contacting the authorities in your destination country.

Requirements for Mexico

Before traveling to the Mexican side, you must complete a health declaration form, which will be provided to the local authorities. You must complete it after your pre-registration or registration, as you will need to provide your seat number. You can complete it here: https://afac.hostingerapp.com/

Requirements for the Dominican Republic

Before traveling to the Dominican Republic, you must complete a digital form required by several Dominican institutions for entry into or exit from the country. It is mandatory for every passenger to truthfully complete the information at the following link for the General Immigration Office, the General Customs Office, and the Ministry of Public Health of the Dominican Republic: https://eticket.migracion.gob.do/

Requirements for Cuba

Upon arrival in Cuba, you will be required to take a COVID test. This test is included in the package price. You will receive the results within 24 to 48 hours. During this time, you may go to the hotel, but you may not leave the hotel grounds. Travelers may leave their rooms even while awaiting the results, but wearing a mask is required at all times (indoors and outdoors).

Requirements for Jamaica

All travelers going to Jamaica are required to complete a travel authorization form within 5 days of their departure for Jamaica. The information collected on the form is used to assess the health risks of all individuals intending to travel to Jamaica: https://jamcovid19.moh.gov.jm/immigration.html

All travelers to Jamaica, aged 12 and over, regardless of nationality, must present a negative COVID-19 molecular test result (PCR, NAAT, RNA) or antigen test to check in for a flight to Jamaica. The sample collection date must be within 3 days prior to the travel date. The negative test result must be presented to the airline representative to complete flight check-in.

Until August 10, 2021, any person who is not a Jamaican citizen and who has been in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru, India, or Trinidad and Tobago within 14 days of their intended date of entry into Jamaica will not be approved for travel.
