The essential Pina Colada!

Still the #1 choice for sun destinations, it's impossible to feel more like you're on vacation than with this delicious nectar in hand! There are several variations of the Piña Colada recipe, but here's my favorite, which is, in my opinion, the best and simplest! In a blender, combine 20 ml of white rum, 20 ml of dark rum, 120 ml of pineapple juice, and 45 ml of sweetened coconut milk (if it's not sweetened, add sugar to taste). Then add 5 or 6 ice cubes and blend until smooth. Pour into a pretty glass, add a colorful straw, and why not a little umbrella? Garnish with a slice of pineapple and a maraschino cherry. The non-alcoholic version is just as delicious; simply replace the rum with a little more pineapple juice or a little orange juice. And even though it's not the official recipe, I prefer to add a splash of grenadine to my Piña Colada; it gives it a unique flavor! Give it a try!

The Daiquiri

This summery cocktail can be made in many ways, and the flavor combinations are practically endless. Enjoy it with lime, lemon, raspberry, peach, banana, and more. Here are my two favorites!

Strawberry Daiquiri

In a blender, combine 100g of frozen strawberries, 5-6 crushed ice cubes, ¼ cup of lemon juice, ¼ cup of lemon-flavored soda (like 7up or Sprite), and 1 oz of rum (white, preferably). Blend until you reach the desired consistency. Add sugar to taste. Your guests will love it if you serve it in a martini glass, garnished with a strawberry and a pretty colored straw! Pro tip: On a recent trip to Cuba, I tried what's called a Miami Vice . The recipe? Very simple: half Piña Colada, half strawberry Daiquiri. Absolutely delicious! And it's super cute too!

Mango Daiquiri

I love this unique and refreshing mix! A recipe that will be a hit at your next party! In a blender, pour 60 ml of mango juice or mango nectar. Add 15 ml of lime juice, 5-6 ice cubes, 45 ml of white rum, and 20 ml of Triple Sec. Blend everything until smooth. Add sugar to taste. Personally, I sometimes skip the ice cubes and use frozen mango chunks instead. For a little variety, you can add pineapple juice, or even some fresh or frozen pineapple pieces. Again, if you don't want alcohol in your Daiquiri, simply replace it with a little more juice! The kids will love it!

The mojito

This is without a doubt the ultimate refreshing cocktail! I must admit I have a soft spot for mojitos, which have a unique flavor. And what's more, they're incredibly easy to make. In a tall glass, place about ten mint leaves and half a lime, cut into wedges. Add two tablespoons of white sugar (I personally use maple syrup: it gives a particularly good flavor). Using a utensil, muddle everything to release the mint aromas and the lime juice. Then add 1 ounce of dark rum (preferably), a few ice cubes, and Club Soda. For a pretty presentation, you can garnish the glass with a lime wedge.

For a variation, I also suggest the Strawberry Mojito . I recently discovered this cocktail, and it's excellent! Here's a recipe to share. In a glass pitcher, squeeze the juice of 2 limes cut into wedges. Then add the squeezed wedges, ½ bunch of fresh mint, 7-8 quartered strawberries, and a cup of sugar. Mix everything together and muddle the mixture well to release the juices from the fruit and mint. Next, add a cup of white rum and 2 cups of mineral water. Stir everything together and add ice. Pour into glasses garnished with strawberries and limes. A real treat! Note that you can choose plain or flavored mineral water. I personally chose lime-flavored mineral water, and it was excellent. Since the rum gives the Mojito a strong flavor, there isn't really a recipe without alcohol. At least, the taste would be very different. Unless you have a good one to share?

The Bahama Mama

A Southern classic! This recipe is simple, easy to make, and refreshing. Place ½ ounce of rum (white is best), ½ ounce of coconut-flavored rum, 1 ounce of orange juice, 1 ounce of pineapple juice, and a cup of ice in a blender. Blend until you reach your desired consistency. Add sugar to taste. For presentation, I suggest garnishing the glass with orange wedges and maraschino cherries. Add a splash of grenadine syrup, a small beach umbrella, and voilà, you're transported to the seaside in a snap!

The Thai Mai

A recent discovery for me, I wasn't familiar with this little cocktail! Go ahead, try it! First, mix 4 ounces of rum with 2 ounces of Triple Sec and 8 ounces of fruit juice in a pitcher. Add lime and orange wedges, along with ice. Then, pour it into a glass garnished with maraschino cherries and orange segments. Excellent!

If you have any easy and delicious recipes to share, I encourage you to do so!
