Once the family trip is booked, and the stress of packing is over, we move on to the serious stuff: the flight!
Here are some ideas to entertain your child on the plane, so that everyone enjoys the flight… including you!
- First tip for a pleasant family flight: pre-select your seats in advance. This way, you ensure you're all seated together. One less thing to worry about!
- Buy new toys that your child has never played with before. Having something new in their hands will intrigue your child, and their new discovery will keep them occupied for a while.
- A box of wax crayons and coloring books.
- Some of his favorite movies on your tablet or even some DVDs and a portable player.
- A few books.
- A memory game.
- The cuddly toy and the favorite pet.
- Prepare a surprise bag for them to give around the middle of the flight. You can put in a few sweets (but not too many!), a toy or two for the beach, a small stuffed animal, a beach and sea-themed coloring book—gifts related to their trip! The child will be rewarded for their good behavior on the plane and will be occupied with their gifts for a little while!
- In dollar stores, there are gel window decals that you can remove and reapply as you please. Set your little one up by the window and let them decorate!
And above all, relax! If you are stressed, nervous and impatient, there is a good chance that junior is too.
Have a good trip!
