Trois-Rivières, February 27, 2025 – A page of history is turning for the Trois-Rivières companies Voyages à Rabais , founded almost 25 years ago, and Tours Amérique , created in 2008. Its founding president, Sylvie Myre, is passing the torch to the current general manager of Voyages à Rabais , Steve Elliott-Pépin, and to a group of private investors from Trois-Rivières.
Sylvie Myre started operations for the company Voyages à Rabais, in the early 2000s by offering a way to travel at competitive prices, particularly through online-focused marketing. In 2016, it surpassed 100,000 Quebec travelers who trusted it with their travel purchases. Also in 2016, Steve Elliott-Pépin began his career at Voyages à Rabais as Director of Finance, before officially becoming its General Manager in 2022.
Proud of the journey over the past 20 years and of having developed these businesses in a competitive field, Sylvie Myre is handing over the reins to a group that shares her human values. These are healthy organizations in every respect. “ Writing the final chapter of my professional life is how it would have been. I’m very happy that the succession is coming from within. It was important to me that the businesses remain Quebec-owned and stay in the hands of Trois-Rivières residents. I had several offers, but I wasn’t comfortable and often doubted that the businesses would remain active and based in Trois-Rivières. With the group of investors and Steve as president, it was a perfect match, and I have great confidence in the future. The timing couldn’t be better,” says Sylvie Myre with pride and immense gratitude.
The new president, Steve Elliott-Pépin, intends to continue developing the companies by building on their excellent reputation, while maintaining the visions established by the founder . “I am truly grateful for the trust Sylvie has placed in me by choosing me to take over . The bar is set high, but I am certain that with her support and that of my team , I will be able to meet this challenge . We have just invested in renovating our head office premises on Thibeau Boulevard in Trois-Rivières to bring them up to date . This demonstrates our commitment to the future and our readiness to serve our hundreds of thousands of customers ,” adds Steve Elliott-Pépin, the company’s new president, with a touch of emotion.
Sylvie Myre remains within the organizational structure as founder, board member, and will sit on the executive committee. She will ensure a smooth transition with the new president and his team.
