How can I describe Amsterdam to you? Well, I would say both authentic and avant-garde! The Little Venice of the North will charm you for sure!
Strolling along its beautiful canals and then pausing to admire the calm waters is truly relaxing! Its city center is very compact, making it easy to explore on foot, by bike, or by boat! The tram is also an excellent way to get around the city!
In this magnificent city, there truly is something for everyone. The numerous museums, art galleries, and buildings will delight art lovers. As for partygoers, they will be thrilled by its cafes and lively nightlife. The Rembrandt House Museum and the Anne Frank House are, in my opinion, must-sees!
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is 18 kilometers from the city center. The train is the most convenient and cheapest way to reach the central station in 15 minutes. A one-way ticket costs approximately €3.50 per person. You can also take a bus or a taxi.
If you're including this city in a European tour, be aware that parking is very expensive near the center. I recommend parking outside the city center and using the tram instead. The Thalys train can be an excellent option if you plan to visit other nearby countries. Keep in mind that you can reach Brussels in 1 hour and 50 minutes and Paris in 3 hours and 20 minutes.
