Barcelona is one of my favorite European cities because it offers the perfect combination: sparkling sea, vibrant city center, and lush mountains. What more could you ask for?
The capital of Catalonia is full of surprises! Barcelona is, in fact, the ideal destination for art and architecture lovers thanks to the legacy of Miró, Picasso, and Gaudí. Fashion enthusiasts will also find plenty to enjoy in the countless boutiques and shopping streets of the city center.
Prepare to be spoiled for choice with the many gourmet options ranging from traditional tapas bars to fine dining restaurants, not to mention the countless trendy bars and clubs where you can end warm summer evenings.
From a practical standpoint, the city center, located 12 kilometers from the international airport, is very well served by train, bus, or taxi. Personally, I recommend the Aerobus, which, for 5.30 euros, connects to, among other places, Plaça de Catalonya in 35 minutes.
