Traveler Notice - Puerto Vallarta

Due to the precarious situation in the state of Jalisco (including Puerto Vallarta), where local authorities advise against all travel, disruptions are expected on flights to and from Puerto Vallarta, a city located on Mexico's Pacific coast.

Here are the options available to travelers according to tour operators:

TRANSAT

According to information provided by local authorities, no incidents related to road blockades have been reported since midnight on February 23 in the state of Jalisco and security measures have been reinforced.

In light of these factors, Air Transat resumed its operations to/from Puerto Vallarta as of February 24.

For the sake of peace of mind for its customers, Air Transat is extending its special flexibility measure for flights to Puerto Vallarta until February 28, 2026, including penalty-free changes and the option to cancel with a travel credit valid for a period of 12 months from the original return date.

Elsewhere in Mexico, operations are proceeding normally.

Sunwing is closely monitoring conditions in Mexico, particularly the recent and current situation in Puerto Vallarta. At this time, all other hotel zones in Mexico remain open and continue to serve visitors as usual. WestJet flights are operating as scheduled to these destinations, with the safety of our customers and ground partners remaining our top priority.

AIR CANADA HOLIDAYS

Flights to and from Puerto Vallarta (PVR) will resume on a modified schedule on Tuesday, February 24. We have also added seats to our schedule to allow you to return earlier. Customers are advised to check their flight status before traveling by clicking here .

To offer peace of mind and flexibility, Air Canada Vacations has implemented a goodwill policy for passengers travelling to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Affected customers will be offered the following options, in accordance with policy:

Holiday packages purchased by February 22nd at the latest, for departures scheduled between February 24th and 28th, 2026, will give customers the option to choose between:
