Amsterdam (Part 2)

What do you think of its nickname, the Little Venice of the North? Personally, I think it suits it perfectly…

Did you know that its fabulous canals are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site?

This information was enough for me to go and take a boat trip. I really enjoyed the relaxing experience, but I preferred discovering the city's hidden corners on foot, crossing the many bridges that span the canals.

Amsterdam is overflowing with cafes, some with terraces overlooking the canals, or beautiful interiors decorated with all sorts of objects! A little tip: don't confuse, like I did, real cafes with "coffee shops" where they smoke cannabis…

The city offers a wide variety of places to eat all sorts of things, such as the famous herring sandwich (a delight!) and "stampot," a typical Dutch dish of mashed potatoes, vegetables, and sausages. If you prefer more elaborate dishes, you'll also be spoiled for choice.

What I particularly loved about Amsterdam was how easy it was to wander around at my own pace, wherever I wanted, in a relaxing and refreshing atmosphere (thanks in large part to the cyclists). And I have to admit, enjoying a good beer by the water is absolutely fantastic! While strolling along the canals, I stumbled upon the truly unique floating market, open seven days a week! It's located between Dam Square and Rembrandtplein.

For an original Friday night, head to the Van Gogh Museum where an event with a bar and DJ awaits you!

With that, I hope I've inspired you to visit Amsterdam!
